Is Hooters an apropriate place for children?

I have 2 kids, ages 3 and 4 and my friend wants to go to Hooters for wings tonight. she says it's not the same as it used to be, and is more like a family resarant now. i have never been and was just wondering if other parents have been there and what it's like.

Its fine, we go there often. Its not the den of iniquity that people think it is. Would you take your kids to the beach? They'd see more exposed skin there.

Edit: There are OFTEN children there, they have a kids menu, and on certain days of the week kids eat free. I would challenge these other posters to actually GO to a Hooters on a night where kids eat free. You'll see kids there, guaranteed.

I wonder what people think is so inappropriate. Drinking? Chili's is a Bar & Grill, and you'd take your kids there. There is drinking at every restaurant you'd attend. Attire of the girls? Shorts and a tank top is inappropriate for children to see?

    Hooters Kids Menu

I'll be honest. Hooters really isn't a family restuarant. But they do have a kids menu and lots of kids eat there.

BUT when I was a kid when we would go on vacations down to the beach and all. I know we went to Hooters every time. And there were a lot of families there. The key is to go in the afternoon/early evening.

They have good food and honestly as kids you don't really notice it to be a bad place. they just know they are getting dinner

Infact if it weren't for the hooters waitress i'm not sure we would have made it out in time before the hurricane hit.

We ate there and we asked about it and she said, get your gas tonight and don't wait until the mandatory evacuation begins at 9am. She says get up and leave at 4 or you will be stuck in traffic for hours and may not get out before it hits. So we got up and left at 4 and no traffic the whole way home (and we had an 8 hour drive)

And sure enough the storm made landfall earlier than predicted right about when the mandatory evacuation was starting)

But that is beside the point.

Would I take my daughter there, probably not. (I can't handle the food to begin with, terrible indigestion. And second of all my husband refuses to set foot in one of those places)

I don't see a problem with the place its like any other restuarant with a bar but they wear short shorts.

Oh and a lot of men work there now too

ADD: My parents who took my sis and I there as a kid, are very conservative and don't even drink. But they like the food and so did we. Me I don't drink either but I went there from time to time as an adult

The only worrisome ages would be between 5 and 16.. anything younger than 5, they simply don't get it. BTW, If they're under 5 and you take them, you might have a problem for months and years later as the youngn's tell everybody that they went to "Hooters". Then these other "adults" will be telling you what they think about it.

Hooters is just like every other restaurant only the girls were a touch less clothes. The girls there are supposed to be very classy though and hold themselves well even though they have on short shorts and tighter tops than normal. The hooters I went to was just like a family restaurant and I didn't even notice the girls outfits were shorter than normal, all the girls were down to earth and very kid friendly. I think I would ask your friend because she'll know your hooters the best.

Hooters is NOT a family restaurant but that doesn't mean you can't bring your family there. Meaning that I think the restaurant is geared more towards adults (male adults) at that. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't/can't bring your children there. I go all the time with my hubby and our 7 month old daughter and his friends.

    Lol, I agree with Seafoam.

It's like going to any other restaurant except the girls are wearing short shorts.

BlueViolet - They serve more than just alcohol and wings. If short shorts and tank tops are slutty then I guess the beach is full of slutty women, afterall all they're wearing is undies and bras. :S

Ive shown more leg and cleavage than that outfit on the link

thats pretty conservative if you ask me

I wouldn't particularly don the orange spandex shorts ( because it isnt 1982) But I do have shorts just as short

Source(s): I dont work on my physique to hide it and if you worked on yours ..you wouldnt have a problem with other women looking attractive/sexy
