The Packers told Favre he could come in and compete for the starting QB job and he didn't want to and told McCarthy that he wanted to play for the Vikings so,naturally they traded him to the Jets so he wouldn't be playing for a division rival. Thompson took over a team depleted on talent from GM Mike Sherman's bad decisions and had a team that was 4-12 in 2005 go to 13-3 in 2007 and in the NFC Championship game. Right now the Packers are going through growing pains with a young team, especially the o-line and a new defensive scheme but, they have a good young QB, good WR's and decent RB's and at times when they execute it right, their offense is unstoppable and at times not very good and even though being sacked 31 times this season, Rodgers still leads the league in QB rating and has 14 TD passes and only 2 int's. so if they get better on the o-line they should be alright.
