maine coon won't use the scratching post ? why? calico is declawed will use the post ?

not much places left on couch :) not clawed .

    Wrong section, but rub some cat nip on that post, and spray a pet safe repellent on the couch.

    I've always heard that cats have scent glands in their paws, so it's possible your maine coon is just being polite by not using the calico's scratching post.

    Put cat nip on the scratching post to help attract the maine coon

    Try taking the cat to to scratching post, hold his paws and use them as if its being scratched.

    Everytime the cat scratches the couch bring them over to the scratching post and repeat the above process. Do that until the cat learns to use the scratching post.

    rub cat nip all over the scratching post. it worked wonders for my cats.
