Why try to connect with an image of God when you can learn to fully connect to yourself?

Aren't we really only looking to find ourselves by seeking all of these "divine" answers and solutions?

Update:

Jon M! Hello sir. I miss your input. Almost as I miss my own.

Update 2:

"So you want everyone to be a shrink, a self-shrink at that. No, we're not "only" looking to find ourselves, because that's the easy part. And when we find ourselves, we normally conclude that there's far more to the picture than just us. We're too complex to be at the center of the universe. And that's when we discover God."

I don't think need to be a trained mental/medical profession to question our own beliefs, ideas and desires... That's just part of being a responsible human being.

Update 3:

Sounds like a load of New Age bollocks to me. If most people knew -- much less admitted to -- what floats around in the darkness at the bottom of their minds, the planet would be an even bigger madhouse than it already is. I doubt that one person out of a thousand would be sane enough to wipe the drool off their chin and potty themselves if they knew just how vicious, evil, and depraved they are at the heart of themselves.

I think I'll pass on that fully connected to oneself business, thanks all the same."

I'll admit to the darkness that float around in my mind right now... In front of all of you people. On the internet. Billions of people can potentially hear this. Okay...

I am an atheist.

I usually try to put on a tough facade, but sad movies make me cry. When one of my friends goes through pain, I feel their pain. I actually feel it. I care and I will do anything I know how to do to make them feel better. Christians are OBLIGATED to feel what we naturally feel anyways.

In a way, yes. My church teaches that God exists nowhere more powerfully than in our hearts. If we do the hard work of finding ourselves, we will find God too.

Any image of God we have will be too limited anyway, so the more we connect, the clearer an idea we have about who He is.

Good to see you around again, man. :)

Because I couldn't even face myself without the help of Jesus. Just being honest with myself.

Some people turn to faith for guidance, and address religion in different ways.

So in a sense, everyone has their own religion.

And that just for starters. There so much more to life than worshiping an imaginary friend.

the reason people try and connect to god is because they are scared.

Ignorance is our common enemy. Get all-knowledge. And be nice.
