Baby boy shower ideas..?

So my best friend is having a baby boy in early March so we have booked her party for January 20th. I need hlp thinking of good decor themes. I don't want it to be "it's a boy" cause everyone knows already and I want to make it little more personal and original. Anything out of the norm would be appreciated as this is our first baby in our circle so I am a bit of a newbie :)

Update:

that's the thing, the dad is into video games and movies. She would kill me if I did a Halo themed shower! I am looking online and what not but really it's the same thing over and over. Pastel blue and pink with ducks and animals! I want to do something cool and different.

everyone always does blue if its a boy or pink if its a girl... why not try doing a different color theme for the shower?

i didnt know the sex of my baby.. but i didnt want the typical green and yellow gender neutral theme for my baby shower. i like red, so the theme was red and white.

maybe you could base the theme on the colors or whatever your friend likes.

Do you know what she is decorating the nursery in? I did rain forest animals in my sons room and the baby shower had stuffed animals on the table and the cake had a monkey, elephant, and a few other animals on it and we had cupcakes in rain forest animal cupcake papers. The table covers were bright colors that matched the nursery. They were all bright and not pastel baby colors at all but it was very cute :)

What is the dad into? Is he into football, baseball? Is he into fishing, hunting, camping? Use whatever his biggest interest is as your theme and decorate accordingly. It will turn out super-cute and not just be the typical "It's a boy" thing.

Go through a party supply store and look at the themes, it should help. There are also lots of party supply websites online that would have tons of options.
