what do you do with a deer hart after you've killed a deer and you want to eat it?

do you put it in salt water and in the fridge, or is there another way to go about. this question is for my stepfather and not for myself.

    I've always had good luck placing the heart in a bag and putting it on ice until I get home. At home, trim any fat off and then soak it in a bowl with some salt water. The next day rinse it off and do it again. then I take the heart, cut it into small cubes and brown it in an iron frying pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then add the meat to chilie and enjoy.

    Depend on what kind of hunting I'm doing. With a bow, I usually clean it up and throw it in the grinder for burger and sausage. With a rifle it is usually obliterated along with everything in the chest cavity.

    like the liver you can soak it over night in milk ,then dry it off ,slice it up and fry with walla walla sweet onions!
