My water is leaking? What to do?

Not everyone's water breaks in a big gush. Some women just experience the leaking. This is a definite sign of labor. You should call your doctor and tell her what's happening. Most likely she'll tell you to go to Labor & Delivery.

If your water breaks, its broken. It doesn't matter if its a small leak or a gush. You need to call your doctor and let them know. Since there is a greater chance for infection once your water breaks, usually they want the baby born within 24 hours one way or another.

So call your doctor and if you aren't having any contractions they will at least have you come in for an exam to make sure its your water. Then you can discuss if you want to go home and wait for contractions or if you want to try some pitocin.

You do not say if the heater is electrical or fuel. If it's fuel substitute it. If you have got a electrical heater verify 2 matters first. Check to look if one of the crucial factors are dangerous. Most likely you are at the starting stages of labor. My mom's water only leaked while she was pregnant with my brother and her contractions started before her water ever "broke". I would call your doctor!

Wait for contractions to start. Drink lots of fluids and nothing in the vagina. Give yourself about 8 hours before rushing to the hospital. Go for a walk and massage your belly with castor oil and you should get some action going on.
