Trouble with motion sleeping?

Hi,

My little one is addicted to his swing. He needed to sleep upright when smaller to be comfortable and now that he's past that stage he doesn't want to give it up! We've managed to get him to sleep in the crib at night no problem. But for some reason he won't take a nap there. He will only nap in his swing or in a co sleep situation. Honestly, I wouldn't mind (sleep is sleep :) ) but he's a big baby and will outgrow the swing soon!

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it? The only suggestion I'm not open to is cry it out. I'm sure it works for lots of parents but it's not something I'm interested in trying at this point.

Thanks!

Update:

I guess I wasn't very clear...

We want to move him from taking naps in his swing to taking naps in his crib.

You said that he'll sleep cuddled up next to you, right? Toss a mattress on the floor or lay down some soft and comfy blankets to make a sleeping area and lay down with him there so that you can get up and not worry about him rolling off the bed or waking when you transition him somewhere else. This also lets you notice if he's starting to enter light sleep and snuggle back down with him to help him drift off again to finish his nap.

I really like the idea of some type of floor bed for babies, especially in a situation like you described. It also lets you start to distance yourself a bit so that he doesn't necessarily have to have you snuggle up with him to fall asleep all the time (if that's something you're concerned about). Once he's comfortable with laying there and falling asleep with you, you have as much room as you need to back yourself up a bit, semi-lay and sit, just sit next to him... and as long as the room he's in has been baby proofed, you don't have to worry about falls and whatnot.

i ask your self whether you have vertigo? you may no longer experience the earth spinning, yet with vertigo "assaults" it may look as in case you do. The unbalanced feeling of vertigo would reason you to think of of the spinning Earth. What I propose is which you will have your reason and effect backwards. the sensation of vertigo would additionally reason you to have a panic attack. start up with your wellness practitioner. If the rfile won't be in a position to locate something incorrect and the medicine for vertigo has no effect, then ask for a referral to a psychiatrist and therapist. they might furnish help to handle the panic assaults and handle the "spinning sensation". particularly, as i'm typing this, i've got self assurance the worldwide spinning around me. yet in view that i understand that this is in basic terms vertigo, I in simple terms press my hands a sprint harder on the wrist pad to take me back to the very fact which end is up and proceed on my merry way.

A matress or blanket on the floor in the lounge room could work. That way he won't feel like he is being left out of any thing and you will be able to do whatever you want.

I let my son fall asleep in his swing and when is was REALLY out I would put him in his crib and let him wake up in it. Then I would wait until he just fell asleep and then put him in his crib and let him wake up in it. Then I waited until he started dozing off and I put him in his crib and left my hand on him until he fell completely asleep and he would wake up in his crib.

Basically I made it to where he always WOKE up in his crib and eventually got used to falling asleep there too.
