Who is Jesus? What is a Christian?
I've looked at a lot of questions with answers that try to prove the Mormon church is false, or why it isn't Christian. I found one point of reasoning to be contradicting and would like people to clear it up for me. I've copied and pasted them below:
1) Mormonism rejects the truth that Jesus is God, which means that mormonism has a different and fake "god" and a different and fake "jesus" that cannot save anyone from being sent to hell.
2) The Bible teaches that Jesus is God's only begotton son.
So what is it, is Jesus God or is he the only begotten of God?
Another thing, people try to discredit our beliefs by saying we believe Jesus and Lucier are brothers. Well, if God created Lucifer, wouldn't he be a son of sorts? And aren't we all sons and daughters of God? And if God didn't create Lucifer, where did he come from?
Another thing (the last one, I promise) Christians say that the Nicene creed and the Athanasian creed are what describes Christians and what Christians believe. Wouldn't that actually be what Catholics believe to be Christian? Why would creeds defined by uninspired men from an uninspired church define hundreds of years after Christ died, be used today by non-Catholics to define what a Christian is?
A few people on here have said that being a Christian is living a Christ-like life. I believe Mormons do this and therefore are Christians.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He is the promised Messiah and the Savior of the world. It is only through Jesus Christ that we may ever have hopes of returning to the Father.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings who are "as one" in their purpose to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
So it is written, so it shall be done.

This is quite the loaded question. Here goes:
The basic tenets of the Christian faith can be found in the Nicene Creed and Apostles' Creed, as you already pointed out. These are what traditional Christians go by. The reason Protestants use the Nicene Creed/Apostles' Creed is because it is the most well-written, covering everything as concisely as possible. Despite certain discrepancies in the way we worship God, these creeds are probably two of the only things Catholics and Protestants can agree on.
To answer your other question, Jesus is God in human form. He is also God's Son. Jesus & Lucifer are not brothers. Jesus is part human (born of Mary) whereas Lucifer is a fallen angel. The way Jesus was born and the way Lucifer and the rest of the angels were created are different. We, being human, are all sons and daughters of God. Angels, are created entities but not in the same way, so they are not our equivalent (See Hebrews 1).
And you are correct about the Mormons. They teach a false doctrine. Rayz is also correct. I hope this was helpful. God bless.

Jesus Is The Messiah.
The word Christian means little Christs. People called Jesus followers "Little Christs".
Jesus is The Only Begotten Son (John 3:16) which shows that Lucifer is not Jesus brother.

I read a copy of the Nicaean creed, one of the things that most of the Christian world basis their understanding of Jesus Christ on and it basically amounted to a lawyers way of saying we have absolutely know idea about the nature of Jesus Christ or God and there is no one who does or can gain any kind of understanding about them. It made me feel very grateful to be a member of the Church.

Ok, this is a fair and good question. Christianity states that there is only one God. The Mormons state that everyone can become a god. Now this is the very basics. As you can see there is conflict between Christianity and Mormonism. Please do some study on this. It is very important. The Bible says that if you deny the Son of who He is, the Father will deny you. Hope this is just a start in your learning about the difference between Christianity and Mormonism.

Act 2:22-36
Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[a] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25David said about him:
" 'I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
26Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will live in hope,
27because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.'[b]
29"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ,[c] that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. 32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. 33Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,
" 'The Lord said to my Lord:
"Sit at my right hand
35until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet." '[d]
36"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Trish, those are unanswerable questions insofar as we all have our own beliefs. But I will never again belong to an organized religion and have some dude trying to convince me that his/her religon is the only true religion. My religion is in my heart, where it shoud be.
My experience only, but in my freshman year in college, my roomate and I hit a different church/religion every week, simply wanting to learn about each. You might try it.....a learning experience. Oddly enough, I found the Ba'Hai religion to be rather cool. I never would have guessed it.
I quit going to church many years ago.

Jesus is the son of the only God there is, Jehovah. He was sent to earth to give his life for our sins so they could be forgotten.
