Is the motorola karma a good phone for a 13 year old?
I'm planning to get my son a cell phone for his birthday. I want him to be able to text and make calls, but I don't want him going on the internet (I do not want to pay for a data plan). Does anyone have this phone? Do you have to get a data plan with it?
That is the kind of phone he wants. I just want to know if it would be appropriate for a 13 year old.

well, the new motorola karma requires a data plan OR a messaging plan, but this can be cancelled at any time.
however, a refurbished karma doesn't require a data plan...
but yes this is a good phone for a 13 year old. Good for texting and has pretty good call qualitiy.

I don't have this phone, but if it was me I'd ask my son if he liked it. He'll hate it if it's a crap phone, especially since he's 13 years old. Just ask him what kind of phones he likes.
