How much could I sue the person who wrecked my Jeep for?
Here are some numbers:
I spent $1900 on the down payment.
I made my November car payment the week before he wrecked my Jeep. $164.25
I had to borrow my brother's car and put gas in it. So far- $50.00 -/+
I am not getting any extra money out of this. His insurance is paying my finace company and my GAP policy is covering the rest.
I bought the car on September 3, 2009 and he wrecked it on October 22, 2009. He wrecked around 10pm and he never bothered to tell me until I got a call the next morning around 8am telling me to come pick up my rental from Enterprise in Paris, Texas. I called him and asked him why I was getting a call on this and then I asked him if he wrecked. He said, "I might have." He doesn't feel like he should have to pay anything. I think he should. Are there any figures I could use to sue him?

Sue for what? Your insurance covers this. Are you hurt? Traumatized? What?

You're only entitled to the cost of the damage to the car or, if it's a total loss, the current value of the car. You are not entitled to car rental fees or money that you already paid into the car. It sounds like insurance is already covering all of the valid costs. You are not entitled to anything over and above what is already being paid. There are no grounds for suing for damages beyond actual damages, and no grounds for suing for additional payment of amounts already being paid by insurance.
