Spiritually speaking... What foods do you serve at Christmas brunch/lunch/dinner?

I am very interested to also know where abouts in the world you are and what your belief system is, and how thise affects the choices on offer?

I live in Australia, north of Sydney. It will most likely be about 35-40 degrees Celsius (95-105 Fahrenheit). We tend to spend the day at the beach with a buffet style lunch of cold meats, salad and barbequed seafood.

On the day we have a mixture of religions. Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and me, Atheist.

Update:

Pops, yes it really is that hot. In some parts of the country it is like that nearly everyday for 2 months.

Update 2:

St. Bernadette, what do you have for Thanksgiving (apart from Turkey). We do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia.

Melbourne. Same temp as you guys lol. Buffet too, cold meats, fruit/greens/potato salads, some Hungarian food from my nan, and an English pud from my grandma, random other foods, lots of cold drinks (alcoholic and non). We always have too much food at the table and only about 10-15 people.

We have - catholic/roman catholic, church of England, non denominational born again christians, a few people who i'm not sure what they believe, and atheistic pagan (me).

But apart from grace at the table there is not religious stuff going on. They can all do that in their own church elsewhere.

We have a big dinner for all our family and friends. Turkey. ham. potatoes, salad, have to have our sweet potatoes also. and then desert. U.S.A. Is it really that warm out there to where you can go to the beach, it is not warm here where I am at and by the time Christmas is here then the snow will be here. Blessings

Spiritually speaking the only thing to do is to not offend a weaker believer ... the only unique day in the new relationship with God is Sunday ... known as the Lord's day ... most Christian celebrate Christmas ... and that can be good ... but, since Jesus is the only way to God ... we celebrate Him on a daily basis ...

I live in Texas. Our Christmas starts around noon and we snack all day. We have tamales, chili, enchiladas, rice, beans, cheese dip, chips, and different desserts.
