Jesus was not actually born on December 25th. The bible says the shepherds were in the fields (Luke 2:8-12). Shepherds were not actually in the fields in the winter time. They are in the fields early in March until early October. This would place Jesus' birth in the spring or early fall.

The early Christian church did not even celebrate Jesus' birth. It wasn't until A.D. 440 that the church officially proclaimed December 25 as the birth of Christ. This was not based on any religious evidence but on a pagan feast. Saturnalia was a tradition inherited by the Roman pagans from an earlier Babylonian priesthood. December 25 was used as a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. It was observed near the winter solstice.

I don't believe Jesus Christ was born on December 25, but I think it's important it's on that day, as Christmas took over a Pagan holiday and Jesus Christ did something that nobody can ever do for themselves, so it's very important.

It's probably just observed to be Dec 25 as His actual birth date was not recorded. In fact, at the time of His birth, I do not believe they even had an accurate calendar of 365.25 days per year. So, the actual date of Jesus' birth is probably not Dec. 25 under our calendar, although it could be with a 1/365.25 probability)

The more important holiday for Christians is Easter anyway, when Christ was resurrected.

B, no one actually says that Jesus was even born in December. I've heard some counts that He may have been born in July, no one really knows.

In my church we believe that Jesus was born in the Spring. Specifically April. It was put in December to coincide with holidays of other religions i.e. Hanukkah, Winter Solstice and others. It really doesn't matter what day we celebrate as long as we do, and really we should celebrate Him every day of our lives.
