What do you think of MLB Network showing Roger Clemens famous games as a Red Sox? Do u think they should?
Yesterday they showed 2 games when Clemens struck out 20 batters. They also once & awhile talk about the achievements of Pete Rose Barry Bonds& other players that many Sports Networks now act as if they never existed. Do you think MLB Network should show games involving Clemens, Bonds, Rose or not & why?
I have no problem with them showing their games.

In general, I don't like the idea of a TV network (or a government, or self-righteous fellow citizens for that matter) deciding what is right and wrong for me. I would rather the network go ahead and show the games, and let us as fans choose who/what we will or will not watch. Not talking about Rose, Bonds, Clemens, et al doesn't make them go away, and if anything stifles discussion about their rights/wrongs and relative merits (or lack thereof).
If you chose not to show them, how do you draw the line? If you say "no games with steroid users" then every game from 1988-now comes into question. If you say "no games with PED users" then every game - ever - comes into question.
And finally, not showing the games is unfair to the players involved who were clean.
Pete Rose is a bit of a special case. I've never had a problem with watching him play. He was the very definition of 'the right way to play the game'. Pete's many, many problems were all off the field.

I have no problem whatsoever with these games being shown. These players were some of the greatest baseball players ever, and to deny their existence or pretend they never played is a disservice. Clemens and Bonds both had Hall of Fame careers without the steroids, and nobody questions Rose's Hall of Fame credentials if not for the gambling. I don't think Clemens or Bonds used steroids until later in their careers, so any of the games shown on MLB were probably pre-steroids anyway. I actually enjoy seeing these games, although they do make me a little sad with the "...if only they hadn't done what they did..." thing.

Yes because they were great players. As much as we believe or hate that fact that they took some kind of drugs to help them, these were great players. You can't just wake up and take steroids and be good the next day. you have have some skills as well. Clemens was a great pitcher and yeah he might have taken PED's but you still have to go put their and produce. Bonds was a great player before he got bigger so to say steroids was the only reason would be a stupid statement. I don't mind MLB Network showing those clips because rather you like it or not, they happen. Bonds is the homerun king for better or worst. Clemens is one of the best pitchers ever and Pete Rose has more hits than anyone. If you don't like the programming then just change the channel.

Sure, why not? I watched the games too and thought it was pretty cool. You have to remember, Clemens has never been proved to have done anything. Yea, a lot of finger pointing but still not real evidence has surfaced. It's all innuendos. On the other hand Bonds tested positive to HGH and Rose was guilty of gambling. Big difference. Hey, I'm not a Yankees fan or Red Sox fan but I think Clemens is innocent until proven guilty.
If MLB wants to show Bonds or Rose, that's okay with me as well. It's up to me whether I want to watch or not.

I don't have a problem at all.
Besides:
Clemens didn't take 'roids when he was with the Sox, he did after, he met McName (sp) in Toronto. Douquette knew he was done in 96, then Roger found PEDs and won some more Cy's.
Rose is banned b/c of actions when he was a manager, not as a player.
No one can deny that any of those players were great. And they were all great and should be shown.

Yeah I saw one of those games yesterday. I think it's good they show games involving those players.. yes guys like Bonds cheated and lied about it, but these guys were still some of the greatest players of the century. Parts of their career have been tainted, but no one can deny the fact that it still takes some raw talent to be a great baseball player. Clemens took steroids, but he WAS one of the greatest pitchers of his generation and came so close to giving the Red Sox a World Championship.

The games that Roger Clemens pitched when he was in Boston were games that he pitched when he was clean. Those are the ones to show, not when he was on a roid rage in the 2000 World Series.

No problem showing them they are great performances to watch. Yes they might be tainted but what they did was amazing bonds stats from 01 to 04 are crazy and it is just amazing that someone can put those numbers up with PEDs or not. also who doesnt like to see 20 K games only a few have happened

they show Bonds stuff to keep the SF viewers. Clemens I have no idea. i blame him for the 2003 loss to the Marlins. my point is a lot of people can't stand him (both in Boston and NY and beyond)
as for Rose, he has a lot of supporters so the MLB Network wants to please them too
