Cream of Tartar + "Real Lemon" lemon juice.
This combination dissolves oxidation, but is so non-toxic that you could eat it. (It could hurt your tooth enamel, tho.)
Mix Cream of Tartar and Real Lemon to form a paste. Apply to the bronze. Allow to sit overnight. The paste will probably turn green. This is normal...it's simply removing the oxidation.
Scrub the bronze with a toothbrush under running water the next day and the oxidation will come right off.
Cream of Tartar + Real Lemon is even more acidic than vinegar and will remove the oxidation even better.
You can buy Cream of Tartar in the spice section of most grocery stores. The Lemon juice is simply "Real Lemon"...the lemon juice in the green bottle, also available at grocery stores.
This is a totally green oxidation remover.

What I have found well to work on my tea kettle is: Heinz 57 steak sauce and for a mild scrubbing compound prior to soak the sink in the steak sauce is very mild and its the box of soap with the little girl on it...Borax I think its name is and its CHEAP!! Anyway, mix 1/3 of a cup with 2 tsp of baking soda and 2 cups of water. Take a soft cloth and scrub in small circles all over the surface of the sink. Then cover it in steak sauce close the door and find something to eat! It takes a while to work and that steak sauce smells so good! After about 30-45 min of soaking use warm, soapy water to clean it off and it should be back to its lovely shiny self!
When you are finished for the day rinse the sink, towel dry it and take a can of cooking spray with OLIVE OIL or if you have a little baby oil just use it instead and lightly coat the surface of the sink. It helps to prevent soap rings.
Takes sometime but in the end its really helpful when your cleaning. And it works on stainless sinks too!
