I'm only 14 weeks and looking very large....i'm concerned about overall weight gain with this pregnancy!?

Alright, with my daughter i gained almost 80lbs.... which was INSANE!!!!! she ended up being 9lbs 4oz... not the 50lbs i was hoping for :) j/k!

Anyways, i am currently 14 weeks and already up 6 pounds... which honestly to me seems great considering what i gained last time! My dr is fine with my gain and he basically said the 25-35 range for me is fine and that if i gain 35-36-37 its really nothing to worry about since my diet this time is very healthy with lots of fruits/veggies/lean proteins.

SO! has anyone else gone through this??? gaining a lot of weight with one pregnancy and then being VERY paranoid with the next!

Here is my current belly photo- people (family actually) have already made rude comments like "wow you are going to be huge again) that have really ticked me and my hormones off!

Feel free to say what you want, i won't be offended by random ladies on the internet, but i truly appreciate your positive reassurance or personal experiences.

Update:

Thank you everyone for reassuring me. I must admit your positive comments seriously made me laugh and made me feel better about gaining weight after such an insane weight gain last pregnancy!

Sounds like you are on the right track so far. 6 pounds is not a lot. I know why you are worried though. I gained 85 with my daughter, I was on bedrest for 3 months and just ate my days away lol. With my son I only gained 28 pounds. I am pregnant with my 3rd and already feel like I am showing. I know they say you show quicker after your first, but I am sure not this quick! I haven't gained any weight yet, but do have a pooch coming! I am not a smaller girl anyway though. Good luck with your baby, and hope things go great!

  • I think you're perfectly fine! With my first I started at 150 and ended at 185. With my second I started at 180 so i'm still huge! So far i've lost a couple pounds, but I think i'm gonna be over 200 by the time this one comes out! And i'm used to being 108 pounds! So my goal after this one comes out is to get back down to 115 lol. Good Luck!

you look fine! I'll be 15 weeks Saturday, and I have only gained 6 lbs too, but I just look fat all over, just like I did with my first. At least you have a cute preggo belly! With my son I gained 70 lbs, and lost all but ten before I got pregnant with this one in late August. for the second you show earlier (or in my case, look fat earlier!). But I'm with you...there is NO WAY I am going to gain that much again!

You look perfectly fine and like an adorable pregnant lady. Honestly, it doesn't seem like you've gained weight anywhere but where the belly pops out (which it should be!)

Good luck with you pregnancy :)

I'm 10 weeks and already gained 5 pounds! But I know it's because I keep eating taco bell and chocolate... sighs. Just make sure you are eating healthy, getting exercise, and the weight gain should not matter.

Awww don't worry about them!! You have a cute bump! However, me, I'm a walrus!!! LOL. I've had 2 people already ask if I was going to have twins. I said "Nope, but thanks for your concern. Baby is measuring ahead of schedule and doc told me I have nothing to worry about." Kind of puts them in their place! =P

**edit: I'm only 29 weeks and have gained about 20 lbs. But it *looks* like I've gained 40!! <3 We'll both have beautiful healthy babies to show for our gains. Best of luck!!**

It's fairly normal to worry but you are on track this pregnancy so don't worry about it. :) I gained 50 with my first and 30 with my second. I didn't think I was really eating any different either.

its normal. i didnt show till i was about 6 months preggo. but my mom was bigger at 2 months than i was at 9. people carry differently and u probly hav a pretty large baby in there. congrats tho. its nothing to worry about if u hav a healthy diet. btw. i remember the remarks i got from my fam. i wantd to punch them all (pregnany hormones) lol.

Oh my God how are you ever going to get that baby out!!!!

    Are you kidding me???

I was expecting a giant woman with at least 5 roles of fat in front of her!

    You're very normal.

If your doctor says you're fine, then you're fine.

I was 197lb with my first and finished at 240lbs!

I'm pregnant with second one and even though my doctor said my weight was fine, I'm horrified to gain weight again.....

    You're fine.

this is your second so of course you will be showing sooner than someone who is pregnant with their first, no worries you look fine to me people with second babies show at 8-10 weeks
