Can someone help me with my petunias?

Now that I know the flower I have is a petunia, I've been trying to give it more sunlight by moving it to the entrance of my door during the afternoon, and my window in the early mornings, but now the leaves are thinning out and curling in on themselves and becoming sticky...I think they're wilting in a way? But the flowers are just fine. And I'm worried...could it be because I watered it too much or something?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, thank you! :)

*Edit:

I live in Hawaii, and the weather has been sunny for the most part. I'm pretty sure it gets enough sun. There are tiny little flying bugs, but they're black, not white, and I have no idea what they are. Maybe I'm touching the plant too much?

I think your petunias are annuals and have run their course. Your plant may be getting too cool in the house overnight. They need not only light but warmth too.

Look closely and see if there are tiny whiteflies on the plant. Sometimes when we move a plant indoors this happens. You will need some insecticide or soapy water. Also remember petunias are annuals and will only last a certain amount of time, especially indoors. They love heat and tons of sun.

  • Plants of any sort become more susceptible to aphids if stressed. Underwatering or over watering can induce stress.

Keep them on the damp side but if they dry up they will get stressed.

Yes they will be annuals but can indeed last more than one year if happy. As a last resort cut them back quite hard and keep them in natural light and damp and they should come away again.

Petunias are an annual flower meant to grow outside in full sun. Here in the South US, we grow them as a cool season annual. Up north, the are a summer season annual.
