Everyone has freewill. People choose to smoke for their own reasons, but keep smoking due to the addictive properties of nicotine.

Yeah I believe that's true when you first start smoking. The reasons are many why people choose to smoke like....everybody else is doing it or just doing it because everybody else doesn't want you to do it. But for whatever reason you do start, once you start it's not that easy to quit. Nicotine in cigarettes is an addicting drug so when you try to quit you go through some type of withdrawal. So it's alot easier to use your brain or free will not to start than have to go through misery to quit. Not to mention all the horrible health issues related to smoking. Good question.

Course, they have free will, but most choose to do it because it stops stress and it just ends up being addicting.
