I couldn't agree more. Google Krakatoa and pick your own site or sites. I remember quite a lot from school, which I'm not going to try and write out here when it's written far better on any number of sites you can google. But one intresting thing I've learned since is that the Norwegian painter Munch's famous painting, The Scream, showing an agonized person against a blood red sky, painted ten years after Krakatoa's eruption, may have been an accurate representation! That is, it's said that the eruption turned skies red around the world, so maybe ten years later sunsets were still spectacularly red and Munch simply painted what he saw: a sky that was red.
