Walking problem of a 17 year old guy?

Hi! I'm a guy, 17 years old. It seems that my habit of walking on impulse and walking when I daydream started when I was 15 years old. Whenever I feel bored or nostalgic, I walk. I walk inside the classroom regardless if we're having class or not, I walk in front of people regardless if they care or not etc. I'm getting sick of this weird habit of mine. Is there any name for this kind of "disorder"? If there is, how can I fight/overcome this? Thank you.

What you are describing sounds like Maladaptive Daydreaming. It's a condition that causes obsessive daydreaming. Take a look at this website:

    http://daydreamingdisorder.webs.com/

You’re describing some of the symptoms. Many people with this problem will pace or shake things in their hand while daydreaming or do some other repetitive motion. How do I know about this? Because I have Maladaptive Daydreaming. I pace back and forth as I daydream; I've been doing it for years.

If you have this problem, you are far from being alone; there are a lot of people out there who have it as well. I've seen many, many, people post comments such as yours all over the internet.

BTW, there is a group on Yahoo about this:

Best of luck and hope this helps.
