Today marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Darwin's Origin of Species...?

...and coincidentally, the 35th anniversary of the discovery of 'Lucy,' the Australopithecus afarensis skeleton and one of our ancient ancestors. Who will raise a toast with me in celebration of the undisputed (in the legitimate scientific community) facts of Biological Evolution?

Update:

@2nd in command. I'm Reform, but even if I wasn't you should know that very few Jews take the Torah/Bible as literally as Christians do. And even if every Jew was as fundamentalist as the "fundiest" of the Christians, I would still accept Evolution as virtually undisputed fact. So along with everyone else I say, "cheers to Evolution!" L'Chaim!

A young Shropshire fellow named Chuck

    We all are connected

    (And naturally selected)

And all now agree save dumbf**ks.

Darwin had all the answers, right?

He just couldn't figure out How the first species got here.

    Funny?

    Quotes from Charles Darwin

“In my most extreme fluctuations I have never been an atheist in the sense of denying the existence of a God.” (Letter to John Fordyce, May 7 1879)

"My theology is a simple muddle: I cannot look at the Universe as the result of blind chance, yet I can see no evidence of beneficent Design." (Letter to Joseph Hooker, July 12 1870)

    I will

Cheers to Darwin and Lucy. May the knowledge they bring filter through into the brains of even the most benighted brainwashed religionist

Everyone who took and understood grade 10 biology. Those who won't, never took the class, or couldn't understand even the simplest idea of survival by natural selection.

    Thank you Mr. Darwin.

Personally, I celebrated this event by re-reading Origin over the past few months. Oh and challenging creationists to do the same thing.
