Buddhist Terrorists, really?

I wish all terrorists were Buddhists or Taoists. We wouldn't have anything to worry about then.

Your so right -- there are NO Buddhist terrorists and the Buddha has never endorsed violence against any other non-believers unlike Mohammad and Abrahamic God of the OT/ Tanakh. I too have come across the occasional moron who claims Buddhism is as violent as the desert religions and have had to correct them. What I realize is that a lot of the users on this forum are ignorant teenagers with a very limited understanding of anything at all. In fact Buddhists are not even allowed to carry weapons and are not allowed to be in a profession that involves even the killing of animals let alone human beings. Any religion that is based on karma can never endorse terrorism --- only false promises of 72 virgins and crazy claims of eternal salvation for buying into the Christ myth can.

Edit: Ellie-n: The Sri Lankan rebels are NOT Buddhist. The Sri Lanka situation is NOT a religious war -- it is strictly political. In Myanmar there is an evil regime in power and the opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is a complete proponent of non violence.

Buddhism doesn't really have a doctrine that can be twisted as justification for violence. The religion is all about harmony and peace within ones self and their surroundings. Causing violence goes completely against the faith. Christianity, however, has multiple opportunities to justify things like abortion clinic bombings, homophobic hate crimes, and witch hunts.

Yes there is a small amount of Buddhist terrorists, these days I believe they are in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. There are not many though and I don't think they are a threat outside of their own civil wars. And I don't think they do it in the name of buddhism just repression. I'm sure you could find info if you google it.

Buddhists.....don't believe in violence...are are vegans, they don 't eat fish......thats really sad.
