I have a wireless adaptor 802.11b/g on my laptop and the router i want to connect to is 802.11 a/g , i got connected but the internet doesnt work...... SO how to get it working

use ipconfig to view your IP address. if it starts with 169.254, you're not getting an IP address from the router.
you'll need to provide more information for a better diagnosis.

you should enter the user name or password, as it is require to connect with the network.
