Can a maltipoo and an English Bulldog live together peacefully?
I have an English Bulldog and want to get this cute female maltipoo from the shelter. I was wondering if they could live together peacefully, being that my English Bulldog is large, and the maltipoo would be quite small.

I work at a shelter and I have a english bulldog. You should have to have a "greet and meet" with your dog BEFORE the shelter lets you adopt any dog. Like I said I have a english bulldog and a Boston Terrier, and a Lab Basset. My bulldog gets along great With all three. He also plays with my MIL's Miniature poodle. He is a very gentle dog. It will just depend on your dogs temperament if they get along.I have seen small dogs dominate a Great Dane.

Small and large dogs live together peacefully all the time. It depends more on both dogs' temperaments than their breeds. If both dogs are good with other dogs, it will likely be just fine. Ask the shelter where you want to get the dog from if you can arrange a play date and see how they do together before you adopt her.

I own Rottweilers and a Chinese Crested. Total opposite ends of the spectrum, but it works for me. The Crested actually rules the roost, and he was the last addition. So, I see no problems with your choose of breeds. However, I can not recommend getting 2 puppies at the same time. It is hard enough to properly train and socialize one puppy. But doing 2 at the same time is nearly impossible. My oldest Rottweiler was 9 months old, when I added a 16 week old puppy. It was truly a nightmare. The older one, forgot all of her training, and was quite rough with the younger one, though the younger one showed no fear. As adults, they are both loveable, but the original one is still very high strung, and prefers to forget the manners she was taught. The younger one of the two did not get all of the "official" training that the first did, but her personality is such that she is the easier one to handle. However, she is bonded tightly to the older one, and gets a sad, forlorn look on her face if we go somewhere and leave the older one at home. I honestly can not recommend 2 puppies at the same time, but it is your decision. I know nothing about English Bulldogs. Perhaps they are an easier breed than Rottweilers. The hardest thing I have found with the Crested is potty training. Just when you think you have it, they forget. Good luck, and enjoy your puppies, no matter when you get them.

I have a 7 year old BULLDOG, and she is best friends with our little 10 lb. Poodle mixed mutt. Our Bulldog, over the years, has also lived peacefully with Dobes and Basset Hounds. (and 2 rescue cats)

You need to check the Bulldog's temperament. People at the shelter should have tested him.Properly socialized, they should be great companions. Good for you wanting to adopt a shelter dog.

Yes they should be just fine. I have a maltipoo and she is a great little dog that would not hurt a fly

probably
it depends more on the personality of the dogs, than their size
we had a 12 pound female Westie
and a 150 pound Belgian shepherd that got along great, for years
We also had cats, a rabbit, and a chicken,
and both dogs got along with all of them
We currently have a small male Maltese, that gets along with any dog that wants to get along with him.
Including several dogs MUCH larger than him.

Yes. I have a 4 year old mastiff, which is huge. and im watching my sisters 6 week old chihuahua, which is tiny, and they get along great, infact right now, Jay(the chihuahua) is laying on top of the mastiffs neck and head.
Source(s): Where i adopted my last puppy from MADE me bring in my other dogs to see if they got along. see if the shelter your getting your puppy from will do that - Anonymous1 decade ago
Yes. All dogs can live together peacefully.
