What is the active presence of the Spirit of God in our time?

"The Spirit of God is just as active now as He was during the writing of the Old and New Testament. God is unchanging and His spirit is available to us as often as we are open to it. Th spiritual realm is always open to us; we are just the ones that always shut the gate. God's Spirit gets quenched in our North American culture because we simply don't believe that God will work. Most theists these days seem to act more like deists and this is true of myself more often than not. If we want to feel God's presence, we can! If we are Christians, we know God's presence is always with us because He has promised that. It is just a matter of us being aware of his presence. This is what's referred to as the "divine presence and apparent absence". Sometimes the Spirit seems to depart from us and we really do need to walk by faith and not site. We can get through these tough times by believing what we know: that God is always with us and will never leave us or forsake us."

The presence of the spirit of God in this day is to be seen in displays of goodness if that's how we're to measure. While I don't subscribe to organized religion, I believe strongly that there are many ways in which we determine to support causes for the betterment of society. We create and endorse the creation and ongoing presence of positive forces through our participation. In some instances, this will take the form of monetary aid, of course. Then again, when I donate to a children's cause or Disabled American Veterans (DAV), I feel I'm actively participating in worthwhile causes.

Is this a god-based fealty? I'd have to say it isn't as I don't subscribe in the usual sense. But I very much stand in support of certain causes that exist only so long as we take a strong enough stand to get out there and make a personal statement. I need no call to worship nor a letter requesting aid. I write a check when and as often as I can because it is important...ask any child who grew up in a public orphanage or any soldier returnee sporting a disability.

These people comprise and are part of the spirit of our contemporary world. We can be part of a joint presence that shows ongoing appreciation for who they are, what they are, and our individual ability to respect their needs.

The Holy Spirit:

Is called the Comforter KJV

Is called the Counselor NIV--John 14:16,26

Will be with us forever--John 14:16

Is the Spirit of Truth

Lives in us--John 14:17

Teaches us all things

Reminds us of Christ’s teachings--John 14:26

Will testify about Jesus--John 15:26

Convicts the world of guilt--John 16:8

Guides us into all truth--John 16:13

Takes from what is Christ’s and makes known to us-- John 16:14-15

Intercedes for us

Helps us in our weakness—Romans 8:26-27

Searches all things

Reveals truth –1Corinthians 2:10

Empowers those who have chosen Christ to overcome sin

He is exhorting us to Watch and Pray and allow God's judgment in our lives now. The "job" of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to Christ which means that He will exhort us and lead us in the way that we should go. Making Christ preeminent in our lives is of the utmost importance. Colosians 1:18. Remember the time is near and we need to be Watching and Praying that we be accounted worthy to escape the things coming upon this earth.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation.

the fact that we are in a religious war, Iran/Iraq/Afganistan/Russia/etc vs. Israel.

The fact that millions of people are coming to God.

The fact that people think it's getting nearer the end (I don't know, but a lot of people claim to)

The fact that people are more screwed up now than ever.

The fact that people want to increase their knowledge and deny the existence of God.

The fact that people want to increase science and technology, and accept that it is changing, but put more faith in it than the God that made them.

The fact that people want to learn more, but aren't willing to listen, if it's not what they want to hear.

The fact that people want things instantly instead of patiently waiting, it's a generation of get it now.

The fact that people are struggling (our government, economy, world)

The fact that people with GOD (not all) are the only ones who seem to have patience, kindness, humility.

The fact that the spirit of God is making Himself known to more people, and when they try to tell others about it, they are called crazy.

The world is going crazy, because we have denied God, put Him under a shelf, instead of on top of our list.

the spirit job today is to reveal truth if we will depend on him to do so as we study the word of god.

Everything........................ everything going on he said it would and he said he would do them.......so he must be present, they are happening.

Isa 46:11 -

Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

All that we see, all that we know, and everything else.
