My daughter wants to know. She just purchased 2 of them, and wanted me to ask all of you what to do.

So have at it and let me know.

Your daughter DOES NOT have suede couches. She has 2 MICRO-SUEDE couches, which are NOT the same thing at all. If by some chance I am wrong and she does have suede couches, they are essentially unclean-able (which is why they don't make suede couches).

You clean a micro-suede couch the same way you would clean a normal material couch.

You have to remember 2 things however.

You cannot spot clean micro suede. If you clean it at all you have to clean the whole couch. It is very obvious when you only spot clean them, Also micro-suede show EVERYTHING, if you spill water on it it will show.

And second you have to clean them by the book, no shortcuts. You have to pre-spray, let it soak, brush the pre-spray in, clean, extra vacuum, and brush the couch again. Or it will look horrible.

Since your daughter just bought them, hopefully she bought the extended warranty, micro-suede is the only type of furniture I recommend this on, since most extended warranties include free professional cleaning. Look into the warranty.

Determine the kind of cleaning job you need to do. If you’re trying to get rid of a single obvious stain, you’ll have to do different things than if you’re just trying to do a general maintenance clean. Check the whole surface of the sofa. Sometimes stains trickle to places you don’t expect. Locate all the stain spots.

Rub a suede eraser against the soft fabric. The suede eraser uses small particles that get under the surface of the suede. When you brush these particles out, the dirt is taken out as well. In a pinch, you can use a pencil eraser to remove dried stains from your suede couch.

Sweep the suede sofa with a metal suede brush. Use circular motions and a slight amount of pressure to remove dried stains. This will also give the suede a fluffier texture and give you a more comfortable sitting surface.

Wipe the suede sofa with a damp towel. The point is to remove any dirt or stains while adding as little moisture as possible to the fabric. The suede should dry very quickly if you use this method.

Test your suede sofa with any fluids or chemicals you may want to use on your sofa. Apply some of the cleaner to an inconspicuous part of the furniture and wait to see if the fabric is damaged or discovered. You might consider doing this on the reverse of the hem at the bottom, where no one will ever see it.

Apply soap or suede cleaner and follow the instructions on the bottle. There are all kinds of different preparations and each has different directions. Vinegar is also a common household chemical you can use to clean suede. Dab a bit of vinegar on the suede couch and brush the suede clean. Wipe the vinegar and the stain off with a clean towel.

Suede couches are not cleaned by individuals. They are cleaned by cleaning professionals. There are no products available for private use.

The only recommended thing is to use a wire brush and a white gum eraser for minor things. No overall cleaning can be done without damage to the leather.

If it is some spots, just buy some suede shoe cleaner and use it on the couch!
