Are AGW deniers jumping on a band wagon that has no horse with these benign emails?

By and large - yes they are. We don't know the full story yet, we'll probably have to wait for the outcome of the inquiry before we do. However, this hasn't prevented deniers from drawing their own conclusions and effectively making up their own truth as they go along. At this point in time we don't even know if the reported statements are genuine or not.

The suspicion is that this was an 'inside job'. The mole had gained access to some or all of the CRU server whilst his/her accomplice was 2,000 miles away in Turkey. The nature of the computer system and the way in which it was hacked suggests that the hacker already the information needed to enable him/her to access the system. This being the case then it would be very easy for the mole to participate in the creation of the e-mails.

I'm not saying that this is what did happen. There's an ongoing police inquiry and they're not giving much away at this stage. More details may be available on Monday when it's anticipated that the UEA will make a statement and outline the framework for the inquiry.

It's interesting to note that, to the best of my knowledge, no qualified skeptic has yet made reference to these emails. I would assume that being scientists they'll wait until all available data is to hand before drawing any conclusions.

Yes. They've decided that AGW is a hoax because a couple scientists used the words "trick" and "hide the decline" in a few emails. Nevermind that when taken in context, there was nothing nefarious in their true meaning.

The really sad thing is that every single denier Q/A over the past week has been "ClimateGate". They've put all their denier eggs in this imaginary basket. Meanwhile the rest of the world is moving on, realizing what a non-story this is. It's pretty sad.

Unfortunately I think you're wrong: no one in the middle is looking at the full emails in context, where they are clearly benign. Any deniers out there actually read more than the synopsis coming from other deniers? It's all out of context and has been a very effective smear campaign. It's the kind of action that is increasingly causing scientists and people paying attention to separate from the Republican Party, but those votes have already left.

There's been a vast shift in politics in the US -- a generation ago Republicans and Democrats both pushed for science & education, if anything it was the hippy-left that wanted to dismiss science and expertise. It's hard to imagine Eisenhower -- or maybe even Nixon -- going for this head-in-the-sand approach.

So exactly how can man regulate he climate of an entire planet, sorry 3 planets? Venus and Mars were warming also and last time I checked our activity on those planets is very little? I have no doubts the planet went through a warming period starting in the 80s but a few years ago it got cooler. Some of us actually travel around this country and can feel, see and notice the differences from year to year in temp. variations.

Now is this a fact or an opinion? CO2 is plant food and not a green house gas or pollution? Pollution causes plants to die CO2 ensures plant life right?

Warming occurs before CO2 levels are elevated and the green house gas that exists in the largest quantitiy is water vaper so do you propose we build a gian mirror to deflet the light from the sun?

The whole thing blowing up into the public view where the people being enslave see what is being done to them is very typical of how liberal minds because they are incapable of contemplating all the potential variables screw up just as they think victory is at hand. Liberals are just to retarded mentally to contemplate truth and that truth is the objective of moderate and conservative minds. We have to have validated solid data not simple fictional statements like the traditional liberal mind will accept. So the liberal mind is unable to construct a fiction complex enough and complete enough to fool the more complex conservative minds in the world.
