How do you make sparkly hardened Paper Snowflakes?
I remember doing a project in elementary school where we made paper snowflakes, dipped them in a glue/water mixture, and then sprinkled or dipped them in sugar or salt. I can't remember completely how to do it, but I want to know how so I can make a bunch and hang them on my tree this year. I'm doing mostly handmade ornaments this year, and my theme is snowflakes. Please help me! I already cut out a bunch of snowflakes, I just need to figure out how to harden them and make them sparkle using just stuff I have in my kitchen! Thanks!

My aunt makes snowflakes 3-d ones - they look like quilting squares - and she dips them in melted parafin wax and then sprinkles them with glitter.

Parafin can be dangerous, you need to use a double boiler and be very careful.
She makes a crocheted kind that is dipped in liquid starch. Fabric stores have decoupage glue which would also work.

Snowflakes... approximately 8 Christmases in the past, I sat there making 30 paper snowflakes and that i spray painted them with glitter, positioned a string on them and hung them on the ceiling. It replaced right into a wintry climate wonderland. =) i'm doing that with my daughter now.

Martha Stewart has some of the most beautiful patterns for snowflakes - folding, cutting, spray glue and sprinkle glitter.
