Are players released when the owners are eliminated from fantasy football leagues?
It's my first year playing fantasy football and I'm having a blast. But I was curious if players from teams that are eliminated from playoffs are released back into the waiver pool? May sound stupid but just curious.

Teams that don't make the playoffs retain their players. If players were sent to the waiver wire, then it would be like a redraft for the playoff teams, and that would negate all the hard work you and the other play off contenders have done all year searching the waiver wire and making last minute changes to make sure your studs are playing.
If non-playoff teams begin dropping players that could give others an unfair advantage, you should ask your league commissioner to step in reverse the drops, and to freeze the rosters, of anyone who would do that. It's just poor playmanship.

No, they're not automatically back in the pool. sometimes you will see ownere dropping players that aren't on the Can't Cut list, but this generally doesn't happen.

no, not unless people drop their players, as it should be, it wouldnt be fair if all those players became free agents over night
