Why did House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spend $2,993 in taxpayer money on flowers between June and Oct?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spent $2,993 in taxpayer money on flowers between June and October. House Majority Whip James Clyburn has a thing for Chantilly Donuts, spending about $265 at the Virginia shop in the past quarter. And Rep. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), a fiscal conservative, decided to give about $2,000 in unused office funds back to the government to help reduce the deficit.
Pelosi, who has come under fire in the past for spending on flowers, also spent roughly $30,610 in food and beverage and about $2,740 on bottled water, contributing to the nearly $120,531 total from all congressional leadership accounts.
Thanks Nancy for using our fricking tax money on flowers to make your office look nice! I pay for my own flowers when I need to send them. Why doesn't she?
Just more examples of the democratic culture of corruption.

Because the woman has no regard for our money! Those expenses ought to come out of her pocket! I guess as ugly as she is a, and she redefines ugly, she needs the flowers to distract from her frozen face, but still she needs to be in a cell in Leavenworth for misuse of public funds

I don't think asking for congressional expenditures to be put online is really an example of 'the democratic culture of corruption'? She is the one who asked that they be put online, rather than printed in a little book that noone would ever see.
I think the flowers are ridiculous, but there are worse things in there. Like the dozens and dozens of pages showing that my tax money is going to pay staff members student loan payments each month!!@$#$!!! Whose student loans are getting paid every month and why the hell can't I just take my tax money to pay my own damn student loans? Its not like these people are permanently disabled or teaching underprivileged children or something, they're on their way to pretty decent careers I'd guess, with free flowers, food and bottled water available whenever they like lol. Why the hell am I paying for these peoples personal debt?

This is why!
Princess Nancy and Overlord Harry want us never to forget how great they are.
We huddled masses we lowly ones, have the audacity to breathe their air to close and not from afar.
How dare we whine, about the way they spend our cash.
It is impertinent to expect a stop in the middle of the country instead of a mad dash.
Perchance our stench would not be so horrible and lest we offend,
if we could just afford soap, were they responsible with our taxes they compel us to send.
or maybe this:
Congress, is spending our money without care,
rewarding themselves with planes and retreats.
The effrontery that they exhibit is reprehensible at best,
admonishing corporations, and the people on the streets.
They sit on the hill, as if royalty on high,
looking down their noses; we taxpayers they rebuff
Why do we allow these actions to occur?
Are we powerless to stop the corruption, when do we say enough?
Rebuttal: Wolf: Sounds to me that is what he is suppose to do, keeping in touch with his constituents, on governmental issues. Not purchasing flowers.

Becuase she is Nancy Pelosi .... she is entitled. She can be speaker of the House and not Live in DC its her right to spend your money on her cronies and get a private jet to taxi her around and decorate her commie office. Until people stop voting for lawyers for political offices this will not change. We have three seperate branches of government for a reason. Why do we continue to fill the executive and legislative branches with the people who make and interpet the laws ??? Stop voting for lawyers people we have enough laws.

Libs appreciate spending your tax money; they do no longer want you to take your new child to the wellbeing care provider, so as that they take your money away so as that they are in a position to help an unlawful alien get his driving force's license, so it will make it extra user-friendly for the law enforcement officials to spell his call on the twist of fate record after he kills 3-4 human beings on a similar time as using under the impact of alcohol on a truck with an expired registration from out of state. it quite is the Dems some human beings want in place of work in November. "Spending the money that individuals won't spend".

How much of a ruckus were you raising when Palin spent $150,000 of her campaign money on dresses during the election?
$3,000 on flowers is irresponsible, yes, but there are worse things, and it is far from theft. I know that any shot against Pelosi seems like a winner, but that one just wasn't. If you really want to discredit her, you are going to have to wait for some real information to come out. You just don't have it today, as much as you'd like to.

lets be fair and balanced as they say:
One of the biggest line items for congressional offices outside of salaries tends to be the pricy subscriptions to Congressional Quarterly, which produces high end legislative tracking products, a magazine and a daily publication. Cantor and Boehner together spent $69,832.50 on the company’s publications – Boehner spent $48,085 on CQ publications.
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) spent $28,410 with a market communications firm to send a newsletter to his constituents, querying them on issues ranging from the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, earmark reform and health care.

"House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) racked up about $24,617 in catering costs."
The article deals with expenditures by all representatives, Democrat and Republican. Pelosi is just one of the examples. To her credit, she is the one who decided that the list should be available online.

Why did she do that? Because she is clearly out of touch with the average American. She spent more on bottled water and flowers than my family spends in groceries in an entire year.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) racked up about $24,617 in catering costs.
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) spent about $24,116 on food and beverage.
Taxpayers foot the bill for leasing cars for members, including cars for Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) and Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas).
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) spent $28,410 with a market communications firm to send a newsletter to his constituents, querying them on issues ranging from the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, earmark reform and health care
Why not point out the Republicans too? Or are they now "democrats" by your standards?
