What is stronger: Genetics or Free will?

Sometimes I look at my mother, and it's like looking in a fun house mirror of the future. Can I break the mold?

Update:

Interesting answers so far. Sorry about the question being vague-

It is more about becoming what you dislike.(not physically)

I regurgitate "Life is about persective!" but when it's staring you in the face...it makes you wonder if you can fundamentally change 40 years of subliminal (and not so subliminal) exposure to operant conditioning!

Yes. Be strong and watch the signs of what you don't want to become.

It depends. If we're talking about a genetic predisposition to cancer, for example, you can't change that with free will. Genetics wins.

Although I am skeptical of the existance of free will, it certanly feels like we're in control of our lives, so just try to avoid becomming that which you hate. You know, what else can i say here, youre question is kinda vague. I have the same thing in my life though. I want to be completely opposite from my mother, and i think i already got to be different enough, but sometimes i hate noticing even the smallest simularities. haha which sucks because we both speak russian and i don't want to forget the language but when i get pissed at her it makes it hard to see russian as appealing.

Imagine that your genetics are a chess board, free will your pieces, and the game your life.

There are countless ways to arrange your pieces but no matter what there will be factors inhibiting there movement that can not be altered, the board for example is a certain size with a set number of squares. There are also your opponent's pieces (factors that can be changed, but until then are detrimental to your ability to alter your situation like family or debt)

Your job is to play the best game you can understanding that there are predetermined rules of chess.

You can break the mold. You favor here but i'm sure you don't look like her clone so you won't look like her.And i think genetics just make your body look a certain way and free will lets do what you want to do.
