The platonic other woman wants to meet me.?
5 years ago, husband split from me over the idea of her. Never made a move, she never knew his true feelings. We got back together within the month. Now, he's drifted back into her life and she is pushing him to meet me because of all the interesting things I do. (The reconciliation came with a life upgrade for me!)
I don't want her in my life, but he's running out of excuses and wants to "tell her everything". I think that is a horrible idea. Quite the pickle. Suggestions?
Since she never knew, it's not her fault, but I don't want to meet the woman my husband (of 20 years) would have left me for. Not interested.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoShould a man and a woman try to be friends if there is an attraction?
We are both married, there is no "love" connection here, just probably more of an attraction than there should be: physically, and mentally. Should we even try to be friends, or should I just run far away and fast?
Looking for real answers here, hopefully people who have had experience in this.
2 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoWhat (name anything) do you have faith in?
Doesn't have to be spiritual, but I will accept those answers too. Just curious where people put their faith.
15 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoIs the search for God instinctual?
It seems most cultures have some form of worship- and even if you don't believe, the majority of people at one point in life engage in some kind of search (educational, spiritual, cosmic, etc).
So, is this drive or questioning a genetic instinct? Or simply a philosophical pursuit- a byproduct of evolutionary intelligence.
*Asking about the search for a God: not why or why not you have faith, but why humans chose to figure it out in the first place.
And no, I don't believe. Perhaps I genetically lack the faith gene?
7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhy did humans evolve past genetic knowledge?
Animals, plants, insects, etc are all born with instinct. They need very little formal training, or in some cases, none at all to survive. (Compare that to human infants. Useless!)
Why have humans evolved past that need? I wouldn't have minded inheriting some kind of genetic manual on how to get through life.
Wouldn't you?
9 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhat (name anything) do you want more of in your life?
Power? Free time? Sex? Height? Doritos?
Whether it's a good thing for you, or a bad thing for you- what do you want MORE of?
And unless it's obvious- specify if it's a good/bad thing. I'm curious to find out if people just want more of the bad things in life.
17 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoMuch difference between ego stroking / need for validation?
If you just want more attention from certain people, does that mean there is a need for constant validation? Or does it just feel good to have your ego stroked?
I tend to believe there is a fine line between attention whore (constant need for validation) and the uber high you get from getting your ego stroked by people you are attracted to. Opinions? Thanks.
3 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoOver-baked a pumpin pie: Serve it anyway or make another?
It just looks a wee bit burned. I think I can get away with it. But I seriously cooked the crap out of it: accidentally cooked it at 450 for an hour instead of 350. whoopsie.
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHave you ever denied something that is true...?
just to hear others convince you that it is?
I have to admit, there is gratification upon hearing all the reasons and justifications as to why something is true.... especially when you want it to be true.
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHow do you deal with a quitter?
How do you handle someone that always quits? He quits projects before they are done, when things get too difficult, if he deems things to be a waste of time. He even quit our marriage once. Sometimes I think he came back only because he quit being alone.
5 AnswersPsychology1 decade agowhat's your excuse for your guiltiest pleasure?
How do you justify your guiltiest pleasure?
I like to travel to see a band... so I use the excuse: They may retire soon!
9 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWireless router question: (Suse Novell linux) shared key won't work.?
My old belkin works with mac pc, windows pc, ipod touch, linux laptop (Suse Novell), but NOT with my new Sony blu ray player. So, we bought a Linksys, which works with everything except the linux Suse Novelle laptop.
It will work with the linux laptop if we use the linksys "open", but not if we put a shared key. (Yes, I understand how keys work- don't forget I got the shared key to work with the sony blu ray and ipod touch etc)
Any ideas? Right now we have BOTH routers going. It's just annoying.
3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoOf the 7 deadly sins, which one ultimately prevents world peace?
In other words, don't apply it local, but global. When applied to nations, which are but a gathering of individuals, each with their own preferred sin, which sin rises to the top? Do nations conquer each other over greed (oil) ? envy (haves and have nots) ? gluttony (imperialism?)

Sometimes I look at my mother, and it's like looking in a fun house mirror of the future. Can I break the mold?
5 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhat is your political litmus test? and why....?
Abortion? War? Healthcare? Term limits (ie: anyone but the incumbent)
I'm fascinated by the idea that an entire platform, or credentials can be ignored for sake of a litmus test. What is yours?
I have one. You have to be competent. I've voted for all parties in the past, and when no one fits the bill, I write in a name.
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat do you think of the TICK New Series comic?
I, personally, think it's worthy of the original comic book series name. For too many years, any spin off using the Ticks name was sub par.
Just got issue #1- the Christmas special, and I think the humor and wit are back! The drawing is faithful to the original comic- no more teeny leg Tick or blob Arthur.
I'm so happy to say the TIcks Back. What do you think?
1 AnswerComics & Animation1 decade agoWhat can't you walk by without buying it? or at least wanting to buy it...?
For me, it's watermelon. So crazy- winter here- yet I saw a package of watermelon slices for a ridiculous amount of money.... and I had to buy it. Ate it right in the car. Soooo goood.
16 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhy do you think feminism will go out of fashion? ( Multiple choice.)?
A) we've reached equality
B) we've reached the understanding that there is no such thing as equality: the sexes are different
C) It's not politically correct to point out someones gender
D) We become an amazon warrior race and only keep men for procreation and fun. Who needs feminism now?
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhat do you think happens to the relationships that inspire love songs?
I don't own many, only the ones that come on the full CD's I buy, but listening to the words, I can't help but wonder: The power of love may inspire songs, but does it inspire fidelity and longevity?
