What is your political litmus test? and why....?

Abortion? War? Healthcare? Term limits (ie: anyone but the incumbent)

I'm fascinated by the idea that an entire platform, or credentials can be ignored for sake of a litmus test. What is yours?

I have one. You have to be competent. I've voted for all parties in the past, and when no one fits the bill, I write in a name.

My political litmus test is their economic viewpoint. Capitalist, socialist, fascist, etc.

I would never vote for Obama because he is a fascist, which means he supports government control of private enterprise (which he has proven by taking over GM, Chrylser, many banks, and - shortly - the health care industry).

Sadly, there aren't many capitalists who run for office. The last one to run was Perot, and he lost. The last one to win was Reagan. But that's my litmus test.

Anyone who has abortion as a litmus test for President is foolish. Presidents don't determine abortion policy. Even if a President nominated pro-life justices to the Supreme Court, and even if the Supreme Court overruled Roe v Wade, the best that could happen is that abortion law would be returned to the states. Which means: even the most pro-life President in the world can never ban abortion in blue states.

To have a president to call a spade a spade, and this clown wont do it.

Anyone who walks into a hospital and yells Allah Akbar as a religious statement in support of Jihad as he starts to murder unarmed Americans is a TERRORIST...and Obama will not admit it.

    Sickening.

I would never vote for anyone who thinks the earth is only 6000 years old and evolution is a myth. That pretty much disqualifies every single Republican for me.

It's called single issue voters. They tend to be cons.

Cons are even pushing a formalized version of one.
