what does a promise ring mean to you?

i think if a guy calls it a promise ring or if he doesn't state that its apart of a proposal then i would take the Ring and jester as him trying to take the next step by showing me that he can see me in his future and that he wants me in his future.

Love use to be the word that said i want you in my future but people take it to lightly and say it all the time to everyone.
