Since Jesus is Jewish, aren't all Christians Jewish by proxy?

I am a Christian, and have wondered about this.

Romans 2:28,29 For he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and [his] circumcision is that of the heart by spirit, and not by a written code. The praise of that one comes, not from men, but from God.

Romans 9:6 However, it is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all who [spring] from Israel are really “Israel.”

answer: No, and it's somewhat insulting to suggest they are.

    Christianity isn't compatible with Judaism.

Very few Christian beliefs came from Judaism.

Christianity is NOT a "completion" of Judaism. Judaism is complete without Christianity.

    JUDAISM

    - says that no human can ever die for the sins of others

    CHRISTIANITY

    - says that Jesus died for the sins of mankind

    JUDAISM

    - says that all humans are born pure, and innocent

    CHRISTIANITY

    - some say that all humans are born with 'original sin'.

    JUDAISM

    - says that G-d would never allow/enable a 'virgin birth'

    CHRISTIANITY

    - says that Mary gave birth, though a virgin

    JUDAISM

    - says that no man gets a 'second coming'

    CHRISTIANITY

    - says that Jesus will have a 'second coming'

    JUDAISM

    - says that every human should speak directly to G-d

    CHRISTIANITY

    - Jesus claims in the 'new testament' that the 'only way' to G-d is via him

    JUDAISM

    - says G-d is one, indivisible, cannot be separated into three aspects/incarnations

    CHRISTIANITY

    - some sects speaks of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

    JUDAISM

    - says that we are ALL equally G-d's children

    CHRISTIANITY

    - says that Jesus was 'god's son' above all others

    JUDAISM

    - has no concept of 'hell'

    CHRISTIANITY

    - *some* Christians believe non-believers go to 'hell'

    JUDAISM

    - has no 'devil', the Jewish 'Satan' is just an ordinary angel, under G-d's control

    CHRISTIANITY

    - describes 'Satan' as a devil and 'fallen' angel

    JUDAISM

    - the 'messiah' will be a normal, mortal man who must fulfill all the Jewish messianic prophecies in one normal, mortal lifetime

    CHRISTIANITY

    - Jesus was the 'messiah' and will fulfill the prophecies when he 'returns'

    JUDAISM

    - says that the righteous of ALL faiths will reach 'gan eden' or 'garden of eden'.

    CHRISTIANITY

    - some Christians insist that only those who 'know Christ' can reach heaven

    JUDAISM

    - forbids Jews from trying to convert anyone to Judaism

    CHRISTIANITY

    - believes in actively 'witnessing' and encouraging people to convert to Christianity

    JUDAISM

    - no concept of original sin

    CHRISTIANITY

    - some sects of Christianity believe in “original sin” to justify the need for a savior. Others believe that humankind cannot keep from sinning and requires a savior to cleanse them.

Christians and Jews besides as Moslems all have self assurance in the only God the Almighty author of heaven and earth. The God of mercy and love of information and justice. traditionally the 1st Christians as Jesus and the Apostles have been all Jews. Jesus printed himself because of the fact the promised Messiah of the previous testomony, this Jews do no longer settle for. yet that He did declare to be the Messiah in different words the Christ the Saviour of the Jews is traditionally trouble-free. And that he and his followers have been rejected by utilizing the Jewish government besides because of the fact the Romans is likewise historic. the recent testomony writings hence have an employer historic attestation. In them Jesus very own coaching with regards to the daddy and the Son( himself as God incarnate) and the Holy Spirit is Contained. Is the Christian God greater constructive. that's the comparable God revealing himself because of the fact the fulfillment of all the Patriarchs and Prophets and revealing the Mysteries approximately God. He had Authority to teach and as he stated he got here into the international for this and He died and rose for this to submit to Witness to the only genuine God. in this foundation make up your individual concepts.

Jewish people are descendants of Jacob. The world Gentile is used to refer to people of non-Jewish linage. Therefore most Christians are gentiles, not Jewish in heritage. Spiritually they are separated by the whole Jesus guy.

No. The religion *of* Jesus was Judaism - he was Jewish.

The religion *ABOUT* Jesus is Christianity.

Adam Sandler is a Jewish man. If people worship him, does that make THEM 'jewish', because HE's Jewish...?

Besides which, you don't get to REdefine who is and is not a Jew.

Judaism alone gets to decide that.

Christian theology violates Torah. We respect it's right for you - but it's idolatry and blasphemy for *us* as Jews.

Christians are divided on that question. Many consider themselves heirs along with the Jews to the covenant of Abraham. Others consider the Jews to be doomed because of their failure to recognize Christ.

I don't think either of those ideas make sense. Christianity is based in part on Jewish law and thinking, but it has incorporated so many gentile ideas that it ought to be considered a new religion cobbled together out of many parts.

Jesus was raised in the Jewish Society. They practiced the Law of Moses, as do Jews today. However, when Jesus Christ came, he enacted the New and Higher Law which replaced the old customs, laws and traditions of Judaism. His Apostles and other disciples changed and began practicing as Jesus Christ taught. They became known as Christians whereas the old customs were still Jewish.

No, more like a Jewish franchise, that remodeled and changed the menu, and bought out their franchise and reincorporated with a new name, and had nothing more to do with the original except for a few old posters on the walls.

No. Christians usually believe Jesus is a god, and they don't believe they are gods by proxy (although many of them act like it).

Not necissarily, both submit to the same God and abide by the same commandments but Jews for some reason dnt believe Christ was the messiah, in a sense yes, but beliefs r different
