Why is the Moon creeping away from Earth?
and not coming toward us? Seems a bit backward, eh?

6 AnswersChemistry9 years agoWhat breed of dog, if it exists, is 'Snowy' in the movie Tintin?
I'm not very good with dog breeds, but he sure is nice!
2 AnswersComics & Animation9 years agoHow do I propose a National Caregivers Day, Aug 11? (U.S.)?
This would honor nurses , teachers and all who primarily serve others as their main occupation. I've chosen Aug as it is the one month of the year with no National holidays, and the 11th day as the night sky is graced with the Perseid meteor shower- sort of a fireworks display to celebrate. What say you?
2 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhen did the term 'United States of America' become popular usage?
The phrase appears in the Preamble of the United States Constitution, but was it familiar much before then?
2 AnswersHistory1 decade agoWhy can't we change our 'thumbs up/down' once it's posted? Aren't we allowed to change our minds?
Once I accidentally clicked 'thumbs down' when I meant 'up', and I wasn't able to change it. Arrgh!
2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoMy grandma, rest her soul, used to make the most yummy scrambled eggs that had a light peppery taste.?
Black pepper isn't it; white pepper is close, and I cannot find her 'secret' ingredient that made them so scrumptious. On the plate they looked like plain old scrambled eggs, no cheese or bell peppers or mushrooms. I haven't tasted such good eggs in over 40 years. She was raised in Minnesota, if that helps. Please help me re-create her wonderful recipe. Thank you kindly.
10 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoIs it legal/ possible to purchase beef in the U.S. that hasn't been cured/ aged?
Freshly dressed and cooked venison tastes much nicer than aged venison, so I wondered if the same were true of beef? I know the aging is supposed to improve flavor and tenderness, but I disagree. Will a butcher sell fresh- slaughtered meat? Will the health regs allow it? Thanks.
4 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWouldn't you like to see some classic car styles re-introduced?
Modern safety and electronic features, but snazzy lines brought back. A 1932 Chrysler Imperial could be a choice.
14 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoIf some product that is no longer available could be re-introduced, what would it be?
I'd love to see Lilac Vegetal after-shave and Clark's Teaberry gum brought back.

2 AnswersGeography1 decade agoI recently moved to an apartment built in 1920. There's a feature in the kitchen that maybe a senior knows?
I live in southern Minnesota, USA, and although the kitchen is small, it is well-equipped. I'm wondering why the builder saw a need to place a 10" diameter hole clean through one of the shelves above the sink, with a capped-off water line beneath it, I can't imagine what original purpose this served. Some kind of reservoir or holder? The house has gas and electricity since it was built, but a few modifications have been made over the years, including a panel to cover the 'mystery' hole. Your help is appreciated. Enjoy the Holidays.
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoIf a person doesn't believe in God, does that mean they don't like themselves?
From a psychological standpoint, not religious nor philosophical view. "I'm not good enough for God", might be what they are saying. Or perhaps they want to be better than God, and not be up-staged? Personally, an humble acceptance of God is very healthy.
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSince Jesus is Jewish, aren't all Christians Jewish by proxy?
I am a Christian, and have wondered about this.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat's the most unusual object(s) you have ever carried in a car? On a motorcycle?
One Christmas, we had no rope to tie the freshly bought tree down, so my buddy climbed in the trunk and held the tree with his hands as we drove the few miles home. In High School, I played tuba,(Sousaphone), and sometimes I'd bring it home on my Honda 100cc motorcycle! No case, just wearing it while driving solo. Wild.
