How do I propose a National Caregivers Day, Aug 11? (U.S.)?
This would honor nurses , teachers and all who primarily serve others as their main occupation. I've chosen Aug as it is the one month of the year with no National holidays, and the 11th day as the night sky is graced with the Perseid meteor shower- sort of a fireworks display to celebrate. What say you?

I agree...and also for people who try to take in and take care of abandoned animals. Caregivers really do wear themselves out and it's rarely appreciated.I was just thinking yesterday that it seems like I'm only a servant.lol

Write your congressman. In addition organize a group of people to back you up. If you feel that this is that important to you and you have a group (a very large group) backing you up, it may pass.
