2002 Ford F150 Won't start.?

I have had this problem before and it fixed it self. Go Figure. Two nights ago, I parked the truck and shut it off for a few minutes. Ready to leave, I tried to start it. It turns over fine but won't fire and run. I tried it a couple times then let it sit for a few minutes. Tried it again and it fired right up just like usual. Two days later, with no problem at all, I go out this morning and it won't crank. Doing the same thing, letting it sit, no good. Still won't start. I disconnected the positive terminal for a couple minutes in an attempt to reset the computer. Still no luck.

Can anyone give me a place to start with out taking it to a shop. I don't have the money to pay someone to fix it let alone have it towed.

Plugs and wires are not that old, runs great when it starts. I am thinking something in a module or the computer. I just don't won't to start changing parts in an attempt to fix it.

IAC sticking. Thump it with a wrench and see if it starts If it does, replace the IAC.

I also have a 2002 F-150 and mine has had nearly 0 problems in 89,500 miles....even has the original tires still. They are good trucks usually very reliable. All I've had done is brakes, and re-prog the comp and just now had a tuneup...thats it. Mine runs flawlessly. Im not sure what the problem is with yours. Maybe moisture gets in there somehow? Does this happen after it rains?

Sounds like the Ignition Control Module may have Gone bad. They have a start and a run circuit, so you might try to start the engine with the ignition key in the run position. Use a short jumper wire between the battery connection and the small wire connection on the starter relay. If the engine starts and runs, the start circuit in the module is defective. It would be worth a try and confirm or eliminate that as a possibility. ...Good Luck...

i'd guess main relay if they have one. dirty battery terminal connections can cause it to not turn over. dirty air filter with an out of adjustment choke can cause it to flood and not start. bad battery?

I once had an alternator that worked intermittently. Tested fine, then battery died again. Drove me nutty.

could be the fuel pump, its located inside the fuel tank, also could be the fuel pressure regulator.

either way its a put it in the shop deal if your not a well experienced mechanic.

    Good luck..

Check your fuel filter or your wires. That might be it.
