Questions about two new names :)?
So at dinner tonight, I was telling my boyfriend about a new name I had found, which is an Italian version of Madeleine......Maddalena <3 Love it (Opinions about it would be nice) but then out of the blue, he tells me that his Great Grandmother who moved to the Usa from Italy was named Modesta......how he withheld this from me knowing how much I love names like that I don't know, but he did. And now I'm totally in love with it, it doesn't hurt either that it is a family name on his side, which makes me like it more.
So what are your opinions on the names Maddalena (Mad-Uh-Lee-Nah) and Modesta (Moe-Des-Tah)? I was thinking about putting Ruth with Maddalena for Maddalena Ruth, which I love (Ruth was my Grandma's middle name) but some other suggestions for both names would be nice. I know they're more unique names, but they're names from his heritage and I think they're gorgeous :)
Thanks Guys <3

Mam, I think Maddalena Ruth is a very pretty name for your little girl, and it will also honor your grandmother, I truly like this name just the way you have it. Merry Christmas.Ruth was also in the Bible, and so was Mary Magadelene(spelled this way), so your little girl will be blessed for (2) reasons! 1) She's named after your grandmother,2) God has blessed her name as well.

I'm not keen on Modesta, because visually the name just reminds me too much of the word 'modest', so it looks weird as a name to me. I LOVE Maddalena though. My name is Madeleine, and I've always wished that I'd been named Maddalena instead since I first heard the name - it's gorgeous. It has such a pretty, feminine sound to it, and it's also super unusual. Maddalena Ruth is a really cute combination - I love how the name honors your grandmother and your boyfriend's heritage too. :]

I really love Maddalena! But not so much Modesta. It reminds me of the word "modest". Which is a good virtue, true.
I have absolutely nothing against the name Ruth, but it doesn't flow well with Maddalena.
What do you think of Maddalena Nichole? Or Maddalena Terese?

Maddalena is ok but I prefer Madeline. Just personal preference. Sorry, but I think Modesta is awful, its just the word modest with an a thrown on the end, so that's all I see when looking at it. I feel like modest isn't a very good name and adding an a to the end doesn't make it better.

Like Maddalena Ruth without the madness: Alena Ruth; Elena Ruth
Modesta reminds me of Modesto, California where Lacey Peterson lived.
I was pregnant & due around the same time as her, so I followed the case a bit.
Sorry to be so gruesome.
There are a lot of beautiful Italian names out there which I am sure you can find
on baby naming sites. Good luck & congrats!

I like Maddalena better. Ruth is cute with it. My grandmothers middle name was Ruth too :).
Maddalena is pretty and feminine. Moedesta is a little more masculine, especially shortened to Moe! yuck! I would go with Maddalena!

Maddalena is such a pretty name! I love it!!!!!!! Sorry but I actually like hate the name Modesta. It sounds like just such a bad name. I wouldn't talk to my parents if they named me that. I would change my name to Maddalena :))

Love Maddalena. It's very pretty and girly. I don't like Modesta at all. I know this is kind of harsh, but it sounds like "molester or molesta" to me. I'm sorry.

I love Modesta.
I'm used to "Maddalena" though, because my middle name is Magdalena.
(Mag-Duh-Lee-Nuh) It's from my great great great great grandmother.
I think they're both beautiful names honestly.
