Well. If you get 22 MPG highway that means you should get around 16 in your regular streets. Its about average for the size of your car. Although many other cars such as the old insight and the new toyota prius may be able to get 50mpg but they are in a different class of cars.

    Eric that's not much better.

If you are looking to save money on gas then SUV's really isn't the right place.

22 Hwy MPG means you will get approx 22 miles of driving for every gallon of gas. on the Highway/freeway (MPG-Miles Per Gallon)

yeah 22 Hwy MPG for a SUV isn't bad, that's about average. but could be better with the cars thy make today.

there should also be a City MPG rating for this car. this is what you should worry about more, since this is what you will probably be doing most. City MPG is stop and Go driving. it is usually lower for this car it is probably 18 MPG...i'm guessing. look into it

You will understand Miles Per Gallon when you start paying for it. I would die for 22 mpg, my truck only gets 10. If you are looking for a foreign made piece of junk, then I would go with something definitely higher than that (26-30).

It is good for an SUV, but bad compared against a Honda or Toyota passenger car. So if you drive 10,000 miles a year, at $3.00 per gallon, the SUV will cost you $ 1,363.63 for gas, while the Honda at 30 miles per gallon would have cost you $ 1,000.00 for the same 10,000 miles.

it really depends on the power you want. when i look at MPG, i look at the power output to MPG ratio.

If a car only has 100 hp and only gets 17mpg, i wont get it but if it puts out 250hp and gets 25mpg or more, then yeah id consider that vehicle. cars and trucks have become very fuel efficient so i wouldnt be surprised to see a 300hp+ car or truck that can get above 25mpg nowadays.

22mpg is basically average for todays 4DR sedans, anything less than 20 isnt worth buying unless you want the extra power.

Depends on how much money you want to spend on gas.

If you get 22 highway you'll get around 18 in the city...

For an suv that's decent but in this economy that's bad.

It's probably the alternator. 22 is good considering you're young.
