What age did you start reading?
just curious, don't remember what age i started but it had to be before i was in kindergarden cuz i remember being able to read the months off the birthday chart in our classroom at that time. & one of my sisters started reading before she was 3 but my other sister couldn't read at all til after she started 1st grade (she could read her name but that was it).

Age 2,my mother hired a tutor for reading and math.Put me 4 grades ahead but 50's era schools didn't advance grades.Kinder garden was boring.

I remember for show-and-tell one day in my Kindergarten class, I read the whole class one of my favorite books. That's really my earliest memory of reading. I should call my mom and ask her when I first started. lol I doubt she'll remember though.

I worked at a day care and at age 2 the kids should know some letters and know their name. Try putting cards out with other kids names on them and asking your child to pick witch one his is every time he gets it wrong tell him that its not it give him a SMALL hint and to try again. like maybe there's a letter in his name that looks like something to him and tell him to look for that and then do it every day.
