2009 Heisman Trophy Candidates - Your Thoughts/Pick?
The 2009 Heisman Class this year is rather interesting; in many ways. For the sole fact that it's not over-flooded with Quarterbacks (McCoy, Tebow, Kellen Moore). One glaring selection is that of Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh who is an absolute beast on the defensive line, and could possibly be the first defensive player selected for the award since Charles Woodson in 1997. So who is your pick to win it; and/or who do you think should win it:
1. Colt McCoy - QB - Texas
2. Tim Tebow - QB - Florida
3. Mark Ingram - RB - Alabama
4. Toby Gerhart - RB - Stanford
5. Kellen Moore - QB - Boise St.
6. Ndamukong Suh - DT - Nebraska
My personal choice that I'd like to win would be Ndamukong Suh just for a change and some attention to a defensive player, one whom especially has garnered such high praise in Suh, but in the end I think McCoy unfortunately will end up getting the award.

I think Suh or Gerhart should win. In my opinon, Suh is the best player in college football. The man is a beast. He is going to be a star in the NFL. Gerhart is a very good and tough back. He basically carried Stanford on his back. Unfortunately, Heisman is all about popularity votes. QBs and RBs will always be the ones who win the trophy. I think McCoy is the favorite right now. Ingram isn't too far behind. Honestly, I don't think Tebow deserves to be in there. I don't hate him at all. Sure, he did good this year but there are some more deserving candidates like Casey Keenum. I'll be ok if McCoy or Ingram wins the Heisman but if Tebow wins it then Heisman will have lost all of its credibility.

I'd agree that I'd love Ndamukong Suh to win it because it's been a while and only 1 defensive player has won it before. It'd be a rare occasion and a change in the Hiesman.
If an offensive player deserves to win it I think it's Toby Gearhart. He has the best numbers and led Stanford to where they are now. I think Gearhart is deserving.
It's based on popularity and money so it'll likely be Mark Ingram or Colt McCoy.
Suh and Gearhart are the most deserving though

Here'd be my vote...if I had one.
1. Ingram
2. Suh
3. Gerhart
It should go to the best player in college football, and I think this year it is Mark Ingram, although Suh is an absolute monster. I couldn't get over how many tackles behind the line of scrimmage he made during the Big 12 title game, especially when a couple of them came after being double and triple-teamed.

It just shows how far things have fallen, when the Heisman voting is regarded as more objective than the team polls. I would love to see either Gerhart, Moore or Suh win, but it will definitely go to one of the three prom queens from the southeast

Suh all the way. He by far works harder and gets at it every play. For a defensive player to have such a big impact on the game is outstanding. They need to praise defensive players more and show that defensive has just as much impact on the game as the offensive sides. Its great for young players to see this and make more want to play defense.

Give it to Suh, Ingram, Tebow... it doesn't matter. Just stop trying to send Tebow back to Jacksonville!

Tebow will get it out of principle since this is his last year. He`s set an unprecedented amount of records. He`s essentially set the bar for QB`s, they can no longer only pass to be great- they must now also run

McCoy will win it only because Texas is a high profile team. McElroy should get in the mix after he destroyed Florida's defense.
