Very General Wireless Mouse Question...?

Okay, so my friend has a Sony Vaio laptop and I want to get her a wireless mouse for Christmas. However, they are VERY pricey! So, I guess my question is--do I HAVE to buy a Sony Vaio wireless mouse to work with her laptop? Or is there some sort of generic wireless mouse that is compatible?

Any wireless mouse will work, so long as the reciever (The bit that plugs into the laptop) is USB.

Any wireless mouse will do, they just need to have a PS2 or USB compatibility. Check the package when you buy.

I in simple terms use a low value Logitech mouse that got here with a low value Logitech Keyboard, Mouse, audio gadget mixture. It has detrimental battery life (i adjust out the two double A batteries approximately as quickly as each 30 to 40 days) even yet it works ok and fits the hand comfortably. i elect to propose it as a results of its cost vs. high quality. severe high quality, inexpensive.

For a laptop I prefer Bluetooth - no worries about the receiver breaking (I have a few dead ones). http://www.targus.com/US/product_details.aspx?sku=... is not only small, light and Bluetooth, it's rechargeable while you use it. (It takes a USB to mini-USB cable to charge, which comes with it.) It lives in my laptop case. (If they come out with one that has a couple of side buttons I'll buy it, otherwise this is about as good as it gets for me.)
