Everton to sign Donovan on 3 month loan deal?
ESPN Soccernet is reporting that Landon Donovan is going to sign with Everton on a 3 month loan deal starting in January.

What do are you thoughts?
I think this is a great move for Donovan, Everton has alot of injuries and Donovan will be able to keep his form while playing in a great league.

FINALLY Donovan gets the move he deserves! He's not suited for the big, physical play of the Bundesliga. Of course the Premier League has big, physical play as well, but that play meshes with the fast, dribbling play that suits Donovan's game better. Plus, he won't be behind world-class players now, so he'll be able to get and keep playing time. can't wait to see landy cakes in england!

Great for Donovan, but Everton is loaded with great talent! They have strikers such as Yakubu, Saha, Jo and great wingers in Pienaar and Arteta. If he does go to Everton it might be because Jo will go back to Manchester City. Either way, lets hope he gets playing time if he does go because the World Cup is right around the corner and play time is important right now. As a Mexican fan I do hope the best for players going to Europe as it is not an easy task! Specially in the EPL!

no way man
like that dude said in the other answer, waayyyy too many attacking options for everton right now and a fit saha is a veryvery dangerous saha indeed (kinda wish we hadnt let him go now huh fergie)
just ask chelski. and as for yanks wanting their lads to succeed in europe, good on them and the brit sytem is close to what they grew up with, they dont have the flair and sophistication for la liga (jose altidor anyone?) nor the skill and prowess for the calcio (unless they r a hybrid nigerian/yank super baby) nor the fortitude and strenght for the bundasliga.
they belong in england/scottland along with the bethren and fellow babarians
the reason yanks want international recognition is simple the have a great youth system, the biggest in the world, they r without a doubt the best team on their continent since the last world cup. and thats hard for me to say beeing haitian but its true. and they have a few success stories most notably dempsey (who is shi+e on the international stage by the way) but the thing yanks cant get through their heads is that this aint Handball or baseball or basketball. footy aint a popularity contest. its about passion and no yank footballer i ve seen so far has any, except for their boy landon and possibly howard.
i hope that quiets some of the limey dissent cause face it ,as much i hate to admit it, the concacaf has talent to spare and should be regarded as at least the maturing little brothers of the s.american giants. i mean costa rica even gave uruguay a run for their money.
so i guess u can fault the yanks for wishfull thinking, even about a game the just dont understand.

Donovan licked to 3 teams now wait to see what happens. He does not play great in Europe look at him when he went to Germany.
Teams Link:
Club America (Mexico/one of the best teams in Mexico)
Everton (England/at least play with partner Howard)
LA (USA/could stay there)

I really didn't expect him to be as good as he is. He has the quickest feet at Goodison Park. He seems to love playing for Everton and i think he will one day sign for us on a permanent contract. Tonight he will be at The Everton shop in the town centre signing shirts and there will be hundreds attending. I haven't heard one bad comment about Landon since he has been here and we at Everton will be very sorry to see him go.

People really thinks he can do well over in the EPL? Look he is good in the MLS, but once IF he plays in Everton the transition from lame MLS to EPL will be difficult for him. Honestly I think it will take him a little while to adjust to the way teams play over there.

meh, he does the 3 month loan every year. should be a helpful change to play in the EPL this time, instead of germany again. just to do something different.

Playing for Club America of Mexico would do better for both Donovan and the USA.
But as long as he gets playing time....it is good.(for him and USA fans)

I think it's excellent. Hopefully he'll stay in Everton instead of coming back. I think these loans should turn into transfers, especially this one. Well, yea I agree he'll be getting enough playing time there.

finally Donovan gets what he deserves....he needs this transfer or loan to Europe and i know he will do well....He is one of the best hate it or love it
