Is a pregnancy test line darker with multiples?
I am 7 1/2 weeks pregnant with my second baby, i took the test THE DAY after my expected period and the line was very fat and very dark, could this mean multiples? The first/last time i got pregnant with my daughter i took a test 14 days after my expected period and it was soooo faint. Any one out there had multiples and had a darker line in the beginning??? just wondering!! very excited!
i am def. showing also, i look like i'm about 12 weeks along (this is my second pregnancy, i know you show sooner) i'm normally 132 lbs. 5'5" and i'm about 136 now

it could be your have a lot of HCG in your system the more HCG the darker the line
High HCG levels can also indicate multiples

I don't think that a darker line would mean multiples... but who knows!
The line was more than likely darker because you had a lot of the pregnancy hormone in your system. (The hormone is what the test picks up on) You are probably about or ALMOST a month along I would say so... Call your OB and set up your appointment! Only they can tell you how many are in there! Good luck!

No the tests are not made like that, the only way the line gets darker is to wait longer until the amount of HCG has gone up in your body and even then the line could be faint.

Nope. All a pregnancy test does is test for the existance of hcg in your urine, not the amount of hcg existant.
Edit: I wanted to clarify. a home pregnancy test does not test for amount, just the existance. a quantative blood test at the doctors office measures the amount of hcg in the system. This is how they measure if the amount is increasing, by taking multiple blood samples over multiple days.

No that doesn't mean anything. I got a big fat dark positive the day my period was due with my daughter and a big fat positive (dark) 2 days before my period was due with my son. That doesn't mean anything except your pregnancy implanted earlier than your previous one.

It could just be the tests..they are all different and you can have different levels of the hcg hormone..i mean, there is a chacne it could be multiples but i would base that off the test alone...who knows...
take care, congrats!

i am pregnant with only one baby and my line was fat and dark before i even set the test down on the counter, so i don't think it necessarily means you are having multiples. good luck though and congratulations!!!! :)

No, I had twins and the test is the same as with a single. And you show faster with second pregnancies.

no
but if you are showing it is most likely because it is your second child
