Pregnancy test question?

women have had their period while pregnant. so if someone thinks their pregnant...would taking a pregnancy test while they are on their period affect the results?

    No. HPT's detect HCG (the pregnancy hormone) in urine. That hormone is present throughout pregnancy, not present if there's no pregnancy.

    I don't know that it would drastically change the result of the test, however, its best to get a "clean catch" when taking a home pregnancy test. This means that no blood should get onto the test. If a woman takes a blood test to determine whether or not she's pregnant, being on her period should not effect the result at all.

    well first off if your pregnant its not aperiod but pregnancy bleeding and makesure you dont get any blood on the test ..
