Have any good baby gear suggestions?

So I am 14 weeks pregnant and now that we've made it through the first trimester and heard the heartbeat, we've started registering for stuff. It won't be until next month that we find out the sex of the baby, but for right now, we're registering for what we can.

Here is my question: there is SO much stuff in every category that I'm feeling like I spend all day looking at reviews for one item, just to find out if it's any good or not. I'm looking for recommendations from you guys as far as what you like, what holds up, what is safe, and what isn't $900 per item in the following categories:

Stroller

Car Seat

High Chair

Swing

These are the four hardest categories for me just because there are so many options. If, however, you have used something that isn't in one of those categories and you think it is a must-have item, feel free to tell me!

Thank you in advance!!!

It really depends what you need. Best car seats are the graco snugride car seats you can get a travel system but they are bulky or you can get a light weight stroller I use a Baby Trends lightweight stroller and I have a Graco snugride car seat but use a snap n go stroller for now while she's in the infant car seat. High chair I just stick with Graco but it's kinda bulky even when folded. Swing I used the boppy travel swing it was fantastic and my baby loved it plus I could take it anywhere.

A travel lite crib that has a bassinet attachment or a pack n play that has the same plus a changing table but it's way bigger.

Car seat, go with convertible since most babies outgrown the infant in months. Then have a nice sling or wrap to put baby in when shopping.

Stroller, large cumbersome pain in the butts. Try and go grocery shopping while pushing a stroller...it doesn't work. Again a nice sling or wrap does the trick.

High chair, go with one that can become a booster seat. I find kids eat better when eating with mum and dad.

Swing, one that can be battery or plug in operated. You'll go through lots of batteries if there's no plug in option.

I was a little over anxious to buy stuff too early. If I had to do it all over I would go all Graco brand! They have adorable stroller/ carseat combos and my in-laws ended up getting us a super awesome Graco swing that the seat can be removed and a Graco car seat can be put in. For when the baby falls asleep in the car. Anyways I'd suggest looking into Graco. They also have matching "sets."

    Suggestion for car seat/ stroller:

Swing: (this is the one we have!)

High Chair: (the one i'll probably get)

    OOh congratulations!!

I just had to say that - but I am afraid that I cannot really answer your question. I still havent gotten all of those things yet myself, and I am in Australia, and I am sure that the products available are very different.

I don't suggest doing your registry yet... I registered early and MOST of my things weren't available anymore by the time my baby shower came.

Just wait, you've got 26 more weeks to go!!!
