Do you believe that anyone running for POTUS?

should have some military experience in his/her background? Given that we are now in a world of global terrorism, it seems prudent that any POTUS candidate have some creds with our military.

Yes it is a big plus when sending our young people to war to have been there your self! God Bless you and Merry Christmas

No, I don't think there's any need for military experience as president. The issue of global terrorism is a political challenge, not a tactical one.

When combating Islamic terrorism, knowledge of middle eastern culture and language is much more valuable than knowing how to shoot an M4 or drive an Abrams.

The individual should have credibility just by virtue of being elected President by the people of the land. The military is sworn to serve the civilian elected leaders and that is all they need to be concerned with.

    Nope.

The "creds" that any POTUS carries is that he *is* their CIC. If any of our brave men and women are incapable of understanding this then they really need to look for a new line of work,

I'm fine with it either way. But I credit the founding fathers with the wisdom of making the CIC a civilian position.

I can see some benefit to what you say, but let's stick with the Constitutional requirements for president, and actually enforce them.

    Yes.

Being Commander in Chief, it seems realistic for them to have experience.

Walking a mile in their shoes seems so fitting. Maybe then, our Military wont continue to be demonized by the Democrats & Liberals.

The POTUS has to take an oath to uphold the form, and he does, ....... take the oath. you could desire to % no count if or no longer he "believes" in it, or "desires to shred it," this is basically a count of opinion.

I do feel that way, even though I voted for Obama. They will have to amend the Constitution, but I don't know if our government feels strongly enough about it right now.

No, I do however expect them to understand and respect our military.

No because otherwise it would have been written into the Constitution.
