Are we getting close to a coup in Washington....?
3 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoWill the election be delayed by this huge storm Sandy?
Will it be days, weeks, or a couple months? Whole precincts will be damaged.
11 AnswersPolitics9 years agoHow should I react to this co-worker/friend? She playfully says "I love you" every time we work together.?
I am single and many years older than this girl who already has a boyfriend. We get along very well and tease each other. I am not completely sure how I feel about this girl and I feel safe only being friends with her. Feedback from other co-workers indicates that she really likes me and that she is also unsure of her feelings. And yet several times on days we work together, she says "I love you," especially after a friendly moment. I think she is just being friendly, but other guys could take it seriously and make a real pass at her. I do not regard her as highly as she does me; myself and most of my other co-workers think she is very emotionally immature for her age (22) - acts more like an adolescent. My question is: how should I react to this comment she makes? Chuckle, smile, remind her of the boyfriend?

Law enforcement community and civilians are both welcome to answer.

All cats do this.
12 AnswersCats1 decade agoShould I leave the bell on my cat's collar?
I just adopted a couple of cats and getting ready to put the ID tags on their new collars. Are most cats uncomfortable and irritated by the bells on collars? I might remove it, but want your input.

I have tropical fish and thinking about adopting cats in the near future. Are cats much more work, and which is the most rewarding for you?
9 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoTrouble with black mollies after water change?
I have a 55-gallon long aquarium, just finished cycling it. The temp is just below 82 F, pH about 7.5. It is filtered by a Penguin 350 and an Aqua-Clear 70, plus a bubble wand.
I have 4 dalmation mollies, 4 sunburst platies, 2 red wagtail platies, and 4 black mollies.
A couple of days ago, I did a 1/3 change with 2 tbsp salt per five gallons new water and AmQuel plus. I fasted them on the same day. Three days previously, I added the dalmation mollies.
I can't figure out why the black mollies got so distressed. They mostly rest on the gravel, and are about 5 days away from giving birth. There is no ammo or nitrite from the tests.
I want to know if I have put them through too much stress, and what I should do or not do at this point.
2 AnswersFish1 decade agoOne filter or two, on a 55-gallon long?
I presently have the twin bio-wheel Penguin 350 attached to the right side of the tank. Although it is rated for up to 75 gallons, only half of the aquarium is being worked on. I feel that having two Penguin 200's (one for each half) would allow more even filtration. Is my 350 good enough for the whole tank?
12 AnswersFish1 decade agoWho could take care of my cats if something happens to me ?
With my limited social network, no one will be able to get into my house to take care of my cats. Should I set up
a caretaker before I even adopt and give them a key to my house. And keep their phone number written in my wallet for the people who retrieve me from an accident? This is my only concern before I go out and adopt.
I may have already answered my own question, but your input is appreciated.
10 AnswersCats1 decade agoIf I put four male black mollies in a 65-gallon, will they get along?
I do not want to breed them and have fry quite yet because I'm not prepared to take care of them. Or do I really need to include females with them to keep the peace?
6 AnswersFish1 decade agoHow many Buenos Aires tetras are appropriate for a 65-gallon aquarium.?
This tank is 36" long, 18" deep, and 24" tall. Filtration is an Aqua-Clear 70/300 power filter. Ph is about 7.5. It will be a species tank. I am cycling right now and preparing to transfer 4 Buenos Aires tetras from their current 20-gallon.
2 AnswersFish1 decade agoHave any of you ever used Bio-Spira to start a new aquarium?
I have never used it, but read that it works a lot faster than traditional cycling methods.
12 AnswersFish1 decade agoHere's a dilemma for you....?
A hypothetical, but not impossible situation: you climbed up a tall tree in time to escape a viscious pit bull. An equally violent lightening storm is now bearing down on you. The dog is still circling the tree, jumping up and down. You're out in the country and the dog's owner is already in custody for other reasons. What would you do?
36 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWhy do so many people put family portraits on display in their homes?
My immediate family never did this. We always used hand-held cameras and pretty much kept photos in the envelope they came in from the developer. And we never used a professional studio. Is this a hallmark of family life? Is it a combination of tradition and pride?

And I mean using adult profanity. Do you think it is dysfunctional parenting? I see it in casual observation. How do you react and what is your opinion of it.
