What are some fun pollyanna theme ideas?
Every year, my family has a Christmas/pollyanna party. Last year's theme was redneck Christmas. We're having a hard time thinking of one for this year. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.THANKS!

When I think of Pollyanna, I think of the "Glad Game". In a rough circumstance, think of something you can be glad about.
Here's an idea: each of you think of a rough situation and write it down on a slip of paper. Examples: house about to be foreclosed; need an operation for cancer; jilted at the altar. Exchange the slips of paper. Work in groups of two, three, or four, with as many slips of paper as there are in the group, and come up with something to be glad about in each situation.
Or, instead of getting into groups, each person reads to the whole group their "awful situation", and then each person in the group tries to think of something different in that same situation to be glad about! ("I don't have to marry the jerk!" "I don't have to take my wedding gown/tuxedo to the cleaners!")
Another thing in "Pollyanna" is that when she had lived with her preacher father in the West, she had received a lot of cast-offs and hand-me-downs. Maybe everybody can bring to the party some worn out item of theirs, and try to make some kind of game of that! Or, you could gather togeher gently-used clothing to give to charity.
You could also act out scenes from the movie, or write new scenes adapted from the novel, and act them out.
You could also do something with with theme: "Nobody Owns a Church". Or you could recreate the carnival that Pollyanna sneaks off to.
Merry Christmas!
